Taste was great fun, definitely an interesting listen if you came to it expecting something different!

Anybody else got the "Trademark of Quality" live LP? The versions of the songs on that are far superior, IMO, to the studio versons.

There is a studio version of Angels and Devils by the way; it should be on the reissue of Ocean Rain.

Post-reform I think Evergreen has some decent tunes on, but overall I would say that they lost it after Ocean Rain.

A&E did arrive quite a bit later than was originally scheduled so it's definitely possible. Let's not forget that Ladies & Germs was only 2 years after Pure Phase, and likewise with AG after LICD.

Highly highly doubtful. Jason's position has always been that he doesn't like recycling the past, and he's even said as much again in a recent interview. I'm sure Pete would be up for it but I just couldn't imagine Jason going on stage and playing Rollercoaster, Starship and Revolution again.

I remember back in the day, when MBV first started doing it, the holocaust was viewed as being almost deliberately nihilistic. I wish I could remember some of the interviews from that time, but the general feeling I got was that it was at least partially a reaction to the more sedate shoegazey crew ...
