Re: Favourite release of 2017
Mojo: I don't know if those of you in the UK/Europe are getting a different deal than those of us in the US, but Matador has offered a subscription deal for the B&S EPs, where you get them upon release and then, as you said, the third one comes with the box and a poster. That's what I signed up ...

Here's my list. Some of it won't be very popular here, but I'm ok with that. 1. Slowdive : Slowdive 2. Julie Byrne : Not Even Happiness (This album is amazing. Check it out if you haven't. It's mellow and folky, but there's something haunting and incredible about her voice and the melodies are crazy...

The online archive is really cool. I explored it a bit. The fact that there are ten unreleased albums slated for future release is amazing. My understanding is that it's free until the end of June, 2018. I will say that I fear that NY and his team may not keep up with updates, though. Note that Pono...

Curious if anyone knows about Mark Lightcap? I've just messaged him on Fakebook, he looks a lot like an older version of a kid who was in my Boy Scout troop in the 80s. Would be cool if it was indeed that kid. Let me know if he responds. He's got to have a stockpile of solo recordings and other int...

I'd agree that the reunion has played out very well all in all. The album is good but not amazing. But everything else has been played out perfectly. The live shows have often been stunning and they've been mixing up the setlists nicely (which can't be said of, say, Slowdive) I saw Slowdive last ni...

I suppose I agree that the album is a little overproduced, BUT it still exceeded my expectations and there are a few tracks that I adore: the title track, Cali and Lateral Alice are my favorites. I thought it was a pretty interesting read, although it does strike me as pretty weird that he felt it necessary to completely eliminate computers from the remastering process when some of the work on the original album was done in the digital realm. Still, I will be buying the reissues for sure.
