Re: MBV Roundhouse tickets

Seems like there are more people from this board going to this night than were at Koko a few weeks ago for Spiritualized! I haven’t felt this up for a gig for longer than I can remember. Last MBV gigs I went to were at ULU (both nights) supported one night by Sonic Boom and Godflesh or was it God?...

Re: How did you get turned onto Spiritualized?

Just a progression really from Spacemen 3 who I hooked onto around mid 88. After a couple of years seeing the Spacemen as often I could it seemed only natural to see a band who were (with one obvious exception) Spacemen 3.

How I got into Spacemen 3 is a better story.

Well, not that much better.

Yep, Mudhoney were the support that night, in their pomp really around the time of Superfuzzbigmuff. Best Mudhoney gig I saw was a couple of months later at the School of Oriental & African Studies. Some guy took a picture of the band while he was diving off a speaker stack, it got reported in t...

Jesus, Thurston Moore 50 years old!!

I remember seeing Sonic Youth at the Kilburn National Ballroom in 1989 and midway through the set he said "there are five Spacemen 3 t-shirts in the front row"

My memory is a bit sluggish these days so all I can see is I saw Spiritualized play at the ULU just when Anyway That You Want Me Came out. I was at that gig. It was a turning point as previous gigs had been very quiet and you could chat in a normal voice and be heard. The ULU gig was all wah-wah an...
