Cheers for the info, more food for thought. I haven't brought an LP with me today and I'm not sure if the guy has the turntable set up, I think it's just boxed. The big question for entry level deck buyers: Rega or a Pro-ject? I'm on the cusp of buying a second hand Pro-ject 3 from a guy on Gumtree for £130, comes with a "Ortifon Cartridge and Stylus (also includes spare)", cork mat, the only fault being a crack in the lid. Does anyone have experi...

I was going to see Songhoy Blues tonight in London until I just had it confirmed that my mate fucked up with the tickets and I no longer have his spare. Annoyed dot com.

To make up for it I've just booked a pair for King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard at the Scala in July. Rather joyous.

Allah-Las are playing a free gig at Rough Trade East tonight. I'll be going to that.

Re: Robert 'Throb' Young - RIP

Such a shame to die so young and just when he was beginning to look healthier and about to record music with Duffy as well, according to some posts on the Scream forum. Yesterday was a weird old day after reading the news of his passing. I've got so many memories of seeing the Scream from the Scream...

Re: What gigs have you got coming up?

This evening will see me and my good lady smiling broadly along to WOODS and MARISSA NADLER at Dingwalls in Camden. Really looking forward to this one. I love Woods and have not long got into Marissa Nadler who I'm finding rather bewitching in both sound and look. I picked up her Mayflower May album...

New track WORDS doing the rounds now

I really like it. Could do with an extra 2 or 3 mins on it though. The gig at the Roundhouse in October should be amazing, especially with Lay Llama's supporting as well.

Dungen - Ta Det Lugnt

I see that this album had a re-release a few years back with a vinyl analog mix (or something or other). Does anyone have it on cd? I had an original copy but lost it somewhere down the line so want to replace it. Looks like it's been issued via 3 different labels over the years, once with a bonus d...

Re: What Are You Listening To Now?

I like that Lay Llamas track. Same label as Goat I see. Will have to investigate further. I've been binging on Jane's Addiction - Ritual De Lo Habitual the past few days, especially the 2nd side. I'm probably playing it more now than I did when first purchased on vinyl way back in 1990/91. Can't qui...

Re: Mistaken for Strangers - The National

It's showing on Film 4 in the UK tonight, about 11pm. I've set it to record even though I don't own any music by them, I just love a good well made music documentary.

Re: New Moon Duo Live LP

More info here: http://www.sacredbonesrecords.com/products/moon-duo-live-in-ravenna 2000 copies, very limied 250 blue and white vinyl edition. I've read elsewhere that they'll be selling copies on their tour as well. I had it on pre-order most of last week then got hit by a big garage bill for my ca...
