Light hearted relief moment - please join in!
There's lots on social media that's designed to lift people at the moment & I really like a lot of the community spirit shown in places like Italy & Spain. Anyway, thought I'd start a thread on gigs & such like. Which I'll kick off obviously... Here goes... First gig you saw: Devo, Hamme...

We're the last company left in our office building. Odd for 4 people rattling about when normally over 100 are there. Leeds is surreal as it's so quiet. Not much traffic, everything moving slowly... I know people who've lost jobs, mainly in the hospitality industry which is on it's knees. My step da...

That's an excellent article. I have so much respect for Nathan and what he's achieved with that place. He's a sweet guy too. Still my favourite venue on the planet.

A friend just told me that Andy Weatherall has died. The guy was just 56. Words fail me to some extent. So damn sad. I'm pretty sure Runcible sat in on one of their rehearsals, if so, I suspect this is the one. Perhaps Mark will come on here and clarify. It must've been something else to witness that sonic onslaught in such a small space. Indeed I was, and it was extremely intense in that tiny room. I went to a c...

I just read the shocking news that Chris Robinson Brotherhood's guitarist Neal Casal has died, aged just 50.
This is pretty awful to hear anyway as he was so young, but a really nice guy by all accounts, a very good photographer and one hell of a guitar player too.
So sad.

Yo La Tengo at the Brudenell. I have to say I was rather disappointed. There arent that many poor venues here Ian & the Stylus is hardly small. I've listed them in my review. Plus we have what many consider the best venue in the UK in the form of the Brudenell.
If you want really poor venues a trip to Manchester is all you need. Or even London. Loads there.

Gerald will argue royalties are being paid correctly. Even if so the poor sound on the majority of the records is reason enough to let Pete or Jason remaster them. Which can't happen.
I just find it sad that the people who made the music have no control over it.

Well the album is there to stream... Jump to Ullswater if you want to see what I mean. It's superb.
Played the rest of the album & I much prefer the slightly more conventional singing style than all the screeching he used to do. They've toned that echo down too which is a blessing.

Re: High capacity mp3 players
Well in the UK we ripped off on everything like that so there is no way of finding that Pioneer machine for anything even near £200... So far it's been tricky. Getting the music on started off OK with iTunes but I've abandoned iTunes now as every time you went to update the musical content it starte...
