From what you've said about the first album, you should find much to enjoy in Conqueror and Silver EP: they're both full of crushing, slow-motion grindcore guitars allied with hazy MBV atmospherics and sugar-sweet melodies. Magnificent stuff.

Having relived Coming Up for a week now, I can certainly agree that the production is mostly awful - where's the bass, fer feck's sake? - apart from the synths, which sound utterly gorgeous. Ah, Bza! Thanks for the reminder, because I totally forgot to mention Miles Davis' electric period. Huge, huge love here for everything he did between '68-75. On The Corner is an utterly mental album, as is Get Up With it. As you say, Eno drew much influence from She Loved Him Madly . I adore Calyps...
