Slightly disappointed overall, frankly. Not the bands fault mostly though- Doggen was having gear problems for most of the set (they had to change his amp just before DTY Fiddle, Jason strummed around the intro for a bit then went into the song anyway!), you could hardly hear his guitar lines on WW...

I've been waiting for this for ages. Did anyone else go to Shipp's gig at the Red Rose? It was phenomenal. He is always phenomenal. I'd say he's one of my favourite current musicians. So, this CD should be amazing then.

I liked seeing Roky. Was going to blow it off (old guy with some young dudes reliving their past) but Sonic Boom talked me into going and it was pretty good. Not the biggest fan of the black angels, not very memorable, but maybe WITH Roky would be AWESOME. So you where there? Shame I didn't know......

I forgot to mention that Jason was more fired up than I've ever seen him. At the end of the set he rammed his Tele into his (rented?) Marshall cabinet and jabbed a big hole in the grill cloth, then he threw the guitar into the drum kit. Badass. I loved the two soul singers, as well. Excellent vocal...

There are other configurations that are equally as baffling- the smart and soulful type who invariably ends up with a shallow bimbo type... the ornamental wife.
