Aw bless her :) Don't be so harsh, that was actually quite a horrible gig so I'm glad someone really enjoyed it! The acoustic mainline set was never meant for outdoors festivals, I'm not saying Spiritualized were bad, but the sound wasn't great, the crowd was noisy, and it just fell a bit flat. And ...

I have been in Glasgow over 11 years now, and I don't think the D3 have played a single gig in Scotland in all this time. I have seen them live twice before, Reading Festival in '98 iirc, and at the ATP they curated in 2007. I may have to miss the end of the Brazilian GP to get to Oran Mor on time o...

Not what I'm saying! The songs he wants them on this record obviously. But he will also take them somewhere new every time he plays them live :)

Re: New Spiritualized for streaming (for free too)

Not sure I agree there - J has spoken at length about how difficult it is to "fix" these songs on record and he prefers to play live! At times he even sounds like he'd rather not have to put them on record at all. There were some very noticeable differences between the October and March gi...

Re: New Spiritualized for streaming (for free too)

It's a rather odd first listening experience - knowing all the songs already from gigs and bootlegs. I'm initially a bit thrown back by the vocals mix on some songs - but don't want to be too judgmental yet as those streams aren't high quality.

It's also streaming at: http://3voor12.vpro.nl/luisterpaal/albu ... lized.html - audio quality sounds slightly better to me than the NPR link although I might just be imagining it.

Re: Silence

Very recently in fact - I had no wish to hear any music the day following the recent Spritualized Glasgow show. I was still... there in that white light madness. Pretty much the same here, it wasn't until the next evening I really felt like putting on any music :) I don't get to experience a...

Re: My Best Fiend - Cracking Eggs

Heard it on 6music this morning and took notice! I really like this. I did go and listen to the full album - it's on Youtube as a playlist, or can be streamed from Warp/Bleep http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLD8B8014F0B41AD08&feature=plcp however I'm not so impressed on first listen. Has an...

Re: Ranking the Albums

I find myself listening to bootlegs more than albums and I've pretty much given up on making lists since the days I was a student bored during lectures! But I probably listen to PP and L&G > LGW and AG > LICD and A+E. And I wouldn't there's any such thing as a definitive version of any song with...

Re: HUH? HUH? HUH?

Decided to search for Huh? on Flickr and found these http://www.flickr.com/photos/22062300@N08/7012045151/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/adversmedia/6869629830/ which took me to : http://www.mobstr.org/HUH.html Now I don't think that's related, you'll notice Mobstr always capitalizes HUH? and that pi...
