The new Cheval Sombre album arrived in the post today. A most welcome surprise because I wasn't expecting it until the offical release date on Friday. I'm half way through track 4 and it's bloody brilliant. Hard concentrating on your work when you keep drifting off and looking out of the window........

I was always a bit puzzled aboput the "limited edition" Chain with No Name cover. I always associate a limited edition with getting something better/extra - didn't like that gold one at all. The original is much better.

Got to agree! Love the Beta Band, the Aliens and Steve Mason (wasn't that keen on the stuff he releases under the Black Affair moniker, but King Biscuit time was good). I never did check out the Lone pigeon solo stuff - must do that one day.......

It did cross my mind that because he took so long to record the last album that he must be sick of the songs. However, he did tour other countries, just not the UK (OK, there were a couple of one off specials in the UK, but not a proper tour). I wonder why? Shame. It's 14 months since it was release...

I never saw the Pale Saints live, I didn't hear Comforts of Madness until 94/95, but fell in love with it straight away. I agree that the later stuff, when Ian Masters left, wasn't as good.
