Re: Bell's Hopslam in the UK- A 10% Michigan IPA

Funny you should mention that - I had a bottle last night. It had a nice thick mouth feel and was dark and peat smoky and hoppy with obvious toffee flavours. Very enjoyable and cost £6 from the local specialist wine/beer merchant. Where is that? There isn't any decent specialist stockists near her...

Something that might be of interest to a few people on here. Scottish brewers Brew Dog has done a special collaboration beer with Three Floyds brewers at BrewDog. It's a 12% barley wine and called Bitch Please.

Spzretent, that's a crazy scenario. The retailers know there's a captive audience and they've got you. Anyway, is it a nice drink? I can't think of any beer release days over here that cause such excitement.

Can't get the link to work.

Sounds like a plan, yes?
Yes.

Or alternatively, go on a real ale trail pub crawl around London. Plus I know a place that does a load of Belgium beers.

Re: Bell's Hopslam in the UK- A 10% Michigan IPA

the 90 minute is more viscous, almost like a sour. It is definitely a beast with that smooth taste and its 9% abv. After two or three of those in a pint glass (which I've also come across at a couple bars down here) you begin speaking in tongues. There is supposedly a 120 minute that they make. I h...

Many a best laid plan and all that. Some beers can be quite deceptive.

Looks like Beer Ritz as sold out and Beers of Europe have only Palo Santo and Festina Peche left. Was hoping to try the ones called 60 and 90 minutes.

Already got few on the wishlist. Dogfish Head and Eel River breweries both look decent.

Re: Jandek

It's worth searching Jandek on here, http://www.volcanictongue.com/ I have a 2 disc release by Jandek, can't remember the title, but it's certainly a little bit challenging to listen to (even by my standards.) If you want I'll do you a copy. Also, if you are listening to this, perhaps Ignatz might a...

Re: Bell's Hopslam in the UK- A 10% Michigan IPA

I've tried seaweed beer and also corriander beer. Two weeks ago there was a Lemon beer available in a pub I was in and that was ok. The tickers over here are going mad for beers brewed with a hop called citra.

A visit to York soon should be good.

I've told some people about Hopslam and they're keen to try it when it's available. Blood orange wheat wine too if it ever hit these shores. Spzretent, you should coincide a trip over with the great British beer festival.
