i have to chime in here. the bjm are my favourite band right now. i like to watch 'dig' because it's the only document of them in their heyday, but mainly it's just a film- not necessarily anything that would justify passing judgement on someone i've never met in person. i bought my first bjm album ...

Did read that bobby had a real falling out with mute who wanted a more radio friendly type album (more of the baby blue and less of 10 mins tracks) makes you wonder why the fuck mute signed them only to want them to totally change and then drop them straight after the releases of surgery!! it does ...

i love 'ala.cali.tucky.' in fact i like it much more than the newer album- although i should probably give it another listen. there's also a really nice instrumental track that i found on an mp3 blog from when they used to be called something else (can't remember exactly) from a split with bonnie pr...

i know people are probably always asking this, but could someone please post this again- i downloaded it last time, but since then our computer had a total meltdown and we lost nearly everything on it and wasn't able to save it. if you wanted to trade i'd like to work something out to that effect as...

Re: Shoegazing- where next?
If you have one Slowdive EP you have pretty much their entire sound as I found the releases very samey. But the 2nd one, Holding Our Breath, is the best I remember although the debut is good too. Holding Our Breath features Catch The Breeze which is a signature tune of the whole Shoegaze thing. i d...

i really hope it's better than 'the great destroyer.' it is a mystery to me why they had dave fridmann produce them again. it's definitely not the best pairing. i love dave fridmann's production on other things he's done but that last low album sounded awful- it's the worst sounding one in their ent...

'stormy clouds'- particularly the live version 'butterfly' 'she's a superstar' (i think it deserves three mentions) 'six o'clock' 'catching the butterfly' (it's sad that there's nothing else like it on 'urban hymns') and i've always thought that 'drive you home' is a really overlooked and beautiful ...

there have also been rumours of- a 2-disc set of the remastered late eps (i.e. 'you made me realise' onward) complete with outtakes and its own amazon.com page for the release even with a release date that has come and gone- about two years now (now gone, of course). remasters of 'isn't anything' an...

i'm not positive that i have the answer to your question- i have a few ideas of how jason gets that slightly filtered/slightly distorted sort of vocal soung and i've always been curious myself. i saw them play on the 2003 tour and he got the sound live with what looked to me like a harmonica mic- so...

but thanks very much. take as long as you need- hearing this stuff is worth it. thanks in particular for 'amen'- something i'd been dying to hear since i heard that they were playing. one of my favourite moments is during 'straight and the narrow' in the middle when that lady yells out 'oh my god!' ...

not to be redundant and repeat what so many people have already said, but thanks very much for sharing. i haven't heard this song at all yet and it's always amazing to hear new songs. if you're moving towards posting the whole show keep it up- your recording sounds quite nice!
