I thought it was a pretty interesting read, although it does strike me as pretty weird that he felt it necessary to completely eliminate computers from the remastering process when some of the work on the original album was done in the digital realm. Still, I will be buying the reissues for sure.

Wow, J's new "Spaceman" guitar strap is super cool. Also, I don't recall seeing him playing a yellow guitar in the past. Looks like another Fender Thinline, but it's definitely not the orange one that has been so ubiquitous in the past.

Interesting. Only one song from SHSL and none from A&R or LICD. Pierce is clearly holding back the new material until the album is out. I'm guessing the setlists for the next few gigs will be about the same.

Thanks for the links. I'll grab those tracks this weekend. I'm almost done with the Acetone book. It's a wonderful read, but the heroin elements are so depressing. Our man Pierce is in it a bit and I was surprised to learn that he basically lived with Richie Lee while he was working on L&G in LA.

I listened to the whole thing yesterday and thought it sounded fantastic. Pressing was clean and flat. Excellent work by Third Man. I assume this was pressed at the Cass Corridor plant.

Did running 17 & 18 on the same night adversely affect the reception of each episode? I think it was a savvy move. Episode 18 was much slower than I had expected. Honestly, 17 is what I had expected of 18. If 18 had run on its own, I think there would have been more of an uproar than there was.

I revisited Forth a month or two ago. I just looked at the tracklist and there are 5 songs that I think are really good. The rest is pretty mediocre. So, I totally disagree with Nick, as this album isn't even close to being as good as A Storm In Heaven or Northern Soul.

My guess is that no promoter has ever made an offer to J to perform LGM or Pure Phase in the same manner as L&G. The bottom line is that L&G is the most recognized and critically acclaimed Spiritualized album, so it's the most obvious one to do front to back in a live setting.
