Good track.

I also recommend the Junior Kimbrough tribute album it came from, which is one of the rare tributes that is more good than bad. Some great recordings on there.

Also one of my top picks from the album, and also at the moment my favorite. There's something very "Things'll Never Be The Same" about this song that I dig.

My top 4 right now are:

Headin For The Top
You Get What You Deserve
Life Is A Problem

I only saw Spiritualized live in 2008, years after I had first started listening. I guess what strongly appealed to me about the band, as I've said before, is that unlike so many "spacey" acts they didn't use the psychedelic reverb to hide from providing strong melodies, memorable lyrics, ...

I'm surprised Letterman would have Spaceman back again. I thought his performance of YLYC a few years back was a disaster (indifferent performance + terrible sound at the Ed Sullivan Theater) and had assumed that bridge was burned for good.

Re: Ranking the Albums

I'd rank them in this order: 1. Lazer Guided Melodies 2. Amazing Grace 3. Pure Phase 4. Let It Come Down 5. Ladies & Gents 6. Songs in A&E 7. RAH '97 I mentioned recently that I've never cared for that official RAH live album. For what it's worth, I too would give Amazing Grace 5/5 -- Spirit...

Re: spz-best first and last song

I couldn't call it the best, but I want to put in a good word for Let It Down Slow. A really nice entry in Spaceman's continuing series of lullaby-esque songs, enlivened by a great guitar solo. Better than its equivalent on Songs In A+E, Goodnight Goodnight.

Re: spz-best first and last song

If we can include Spacemen 3 in here, I'd probably say best starter is Medication and best closer is Call The Doctor.

If just Spz, I'd say Medication and 200 Bars.
