Hahaha! I like the fact that this very busy thread has ceased for a few days after that bombshell of a statement! ‘Crazy’ is exactly the kind of country blues I would hope for. Ladies and gents is a long album but I honestly don't know what i would cut. Certainly none of the bits identified by Sunray! No God Only Religion is a beast! It's an album where the sequencing is an absolute masterstroke. Every song in its place. One possible exception- I've always thought that St...

7 tracks does appear very short. But from what I’m reading, those 7 tracks are incredible. The idea of making a double album out of the playlists is a great idea. Re: *** Spaceman Reissue Program ***

And also by the Customs sticker declaring that the package contains a vinyl LP, valued at 4 dollars… “DO NOT SMASH” 🤣 That’s really decent of Fat Possum to do that regarding the goods cost, at least. Otherwise you’ll have probably have to pay additional import fees. I found an email yesterday sayin...

Re: HGM covers Shine a Light

I quite like that. Chilled and meditative - initially it almost sounds like a version that could have been recorded during the Amazing Grace recordings. That sparseness… Maybe.

I’d like to hear that recorded with Mimi Turner’s vocals, although HGM does a good job anyway.

Re: Royal Albert Hall, October 11th, 2011.

It’s pretty mind-blowing to think that’s been 10 years. I remember the atmosphere in London that day vividly, afternoon session next to the canal in Camden, the rush to get to the RAH in time, the gig itself which was very special: hearing one new song after another with the massive band on stage. ‘...

Having listened to Ian and Mark’s Spacemen Pod the other night (cheers fellas) with the focus on ‘Walking With Jesus’, this take on this recording is pure spine-tingling goodness. I love how at a minute in after the first appearance of the backing singers a woman clearly goes “WOW” Wow indeed. This ...

No. Somebody shouted for it. Nick appeared to think about it for a second and went “no, I can’t tonight”.

He played ‘Palaces of Montezuma’ a few shows before the Edinburgh gig, I was hoping he would play that too.

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis, Edinburgh 20th Sept 2021

So just over a week ago I had the absolute pleasure of seeing them live in the Edinburgh Playhouse. What a gig! First live music in 19 months - it surely felt a lot longer that that. It was beautiful, intense, very emotional and pretty much amazing. I’m glad that Nick and Warren were able to have a ...
