WAV-files are basically CD-quality audiofiles. You can import them into Itunes and convert them to mp3's or apple lossless (if you want to keep the soundquality)

Saw the Milk Carton Kids yesterday in a little church in my town. Beautiful music: they're a folk duo, just two guitars and two voices blending so pretty it makes one want to weep. And the most dead pan hilarious inbetween song banter that has you laughing out loud. A perfect combination. Go and see...

I really like this album. That last song is really a thing jason could've done. But apart from that, there is restraint in the production, it sounds kinda like everything is happening in a distance. Which I like :-)

I've kept my NAD tapedeck for that purpose. I hook it up to my M-audio soundcard with nice gold plated cables, filter out some of the worst noise and get good results. Would be happy to do it for you...

Saw Masters of Reality at a tiny venue in Amsterdam last wednesday. Drums weren't even miked up, that small. But man, did Chris and the rest rock the place! Probably one of the best gigs I've ever seen. Haven't been able to wipe the grin of my face since :D

Really diggin' the new Laura Marling album, don't know if anyone here knows her, but the whole album like a sort of folk symphony, not in instrumentation - it's quite sparse in arrangement - but in the way the tracks are more like movements than individual songs. And the production is lovely too.

I bought an Edirol R-09 just for this purpose. Is has a pretty good A/D-converter en let's you record in hi-rez (24-bits/ 96khz) WAV. If you want to. It also records straigth into mp3, but I wouldn't recommend it, if you care about soundquality. You could also use a laptop, with a good external soun...

I always bring D'Angelo's Voodoo. If a speaker/ amp/ headphone can get a good clear bassline out of that one, it's good stuff :wink:

Now playing the Tame Impala record. I like it. It doesn't sound all that different from the last one. The songs all sound a bit the same at first listen, but Innerspeaker had that very same 'problem', which resolved itself nicely after a couple of spins. :wink:

I can recommend Beyer Dynamics headphones: detailled sound, good bass. They don't need a headphone amp. I also use 'm for mixing. Maybe worth considering.
But you should really go and listen to a couple of different ones. Trust your ears :-)

apart from beachwood sparks new one that i bought last friday, right now cashier no 9 is spinning on the turntable, lovely album that.

The new Beachwood Sparks, The Tarnished Gold, is really good. Maybe their best. If you liked Jonathan Wilson's latest release you'll love this.
