I downloaded the Mono gig from that bootleg.freakin site. A bloody belter, even if deeply derivative of Godspeed/Explosions in the Sky/Mogwai... saw them in june - decided to quit the bong for a couple of days and mono gave me weird flashback halfway through the gig.. not as good as mogwai but good...

It's kind of stupid, but I just thought of who they really remind me of. Has anybody seen the movie "A mighty wind"? The "New mainstreet singers"! That's who these guys remind me of, and that's why they give me the all-out creeps. People like that need to be slapped until their o...

Yep. This is all just too creepy for me. What ever happened to people's right to just live, let live and do whatever the fuck they want to as long as nobody else gets hurt (too bad)? Nobody is that happy, and if they are, well they shouldn't be. That "you're in 100% or you're out" bullshit...

Yeah, the ad pretty much nixed them for me. All those weird, happy people with their arms up in the air. It looked like a revival or something. Shit like that gives me the creeps. That, and they remind me of the 5th Dimension. Has anybody ever seen "Hair", or "Jesus Christ, Superstar&...

A couple of people I've played Spiritualized for have said that they don't like Jason's voice. I think that his voice is so genuine and soulful that it makes up for any inadequacies it might have. Anybody could sing these songs, the point is that he writes and sings (most of) them himself. On a side...

People are fucking idiots. I would be willing to bet that most of the people who are outraged at "their" artists being used to sell nappies, chocolate bars and VWs are in their 30s or 40s. While they may have no soul and very little in the way of taste to speak of, those advertising people...

What the hell is wrong with LICD and/or AG? I know a lot of other people say this, but both those albums are pretty damn good if you compare it with about 99.9% of the crap we're shovel-fed on a regular basis. Listening to just about anything by Spiritualized makes me want to make better music...

Right now I'm preparing to be crucified, but what exactly is wrong with finding a formula and working within said formula to produce highly enjoyable music? I've got to say that I think the Polyphonic Spree is quite possibly the lamest fucking thing I've ever seen. To me, it represents in music what SSRIs like Prozac and Paxil have done to the population at large. At a more basic level, it sounds a little like Spiritualized, without all that annoying so...

Re: Spiritualized Electric yaaaawnline

In answer to this one: Yes, and No. The story behind 'Spiritualized Electric Mainline' is as bizarre as it is pointless. Basically, it all started in 1995 when an interview (a rather good one as it happens) was conducted with the (then new) three-piece Spiritualized line-up (Jason, Sean and Linda M...
