Re: chrome dreams II
Yeah, I love that record, too! "Shining Light" actually reminds me of Spiritualized a little and is a gorgeous song. Some people think that "Ordinary People" doesn't fit in with the rest of the album. While I agree that the album maybe works better without it thematically and son...

Re: Neil Young UK Tour 2008
I have to agree with the above poster that, in the end, Neil Young was VERY worth it, even for such a price. In fact, I shelled out to see him TWICE! And in all my years of seeing shows (and there have been many), I have never seen a performer who is such a master of both the acoustic and electric f...

No, that poor guy took his cue from these other 2 dudes to his right (and right in front of me). He saw them light up their cannon and thought it was a good time to spark his. And the security guy passed right behind me (and hence the guys with the cannon) to bust the larger man. The funny thing was...

I, too, found this to be a welcome change from the traditional Spiritualized show. (Although I thought the AG show was incredible and reminded me more of early Spiritualized than anything since, well, early Spiritualized -- maybe it was the healthy dose of LGM tunes!) I wouldn't want or expect this ...

Just got in from hanging out after the Toronto show. Great stuff! The setlist seemed to be the same as the other North American shows except for one addition: "Shine A Light". Maybe they've played this one before and I was unaware of it but it sure was a nice surprise. Now who was the clow...

Re: Canadian Acoustic Mainlines
The Phoenix is basically a dance club/concert hall and therefore has no seats. It's a big open space with bars on the sides and at the back. In fact, I'm having a hard time imagining this show there. However, I did see Tori Amos there back in 1993 and I'd SWEAR they had set up chairs for the gig. I ...

I'm not familiar with the Ellington song. But if Jason was "borrowing" that title, I think it's more likely he's referencing Miles Davis (from the "Get Up With It" album)...ryansocash wrote:
