Re: Help. Decent(ish) set-up for playing vinyl???
The basic set up you need is turntable, intergrated amp with phono socket and speakers. If the phono socket on your amp isn't too good, or you have bought an amp without a phono socket, then you'll want a phono amp. You will plug your turntable into this which will in-turn plug into your amp. It pas...

yeah, i read the reviews for the Nad amps and Mission speakers when I was looking. They would certainly sound decent. Good luck.

Re: Help. Decent(ish) set-up for playing vinyl???
Amp - Make sure that you factor in the cost of maybe having to buy a phono stage if you're buying an amp, some don't have them as standard. Cambridge Azur around £180 but needs a phono stage which will cost around £60 new. I have the CD player and it is pretty good for the price. Simple looking bu...

Shame that clip has been removed. On a related matter - does anyone have a copy of 'The Curse Of Lono'? I recently borrowed a copy from my local library and as it was a reserve stock with a page missing they will let me buy it for 10p. I'm hoping that some kind soul here could scan the missing page ...

Re: Detroit Lions 0-16 Perfect Season In Reverse
I feel your pain! I played in a football team (read Soccer) when I was about 13-14 yrs old and we lost every game in a season usually by 5-6 goals a game, sometimes more. It was hell for me and ruined what was likely to be a promising career playing in the lower leagues of Scottish fooball. I guess ...

Yeah man, I'm sure it would be sweet to own but even if I had the money I'm not sure I'd spend that much on it. The vinyl will cost a fortune as well. A great travel book is 'Danziger's Travels' by Nick Danziger. He recieves a scholorship of such and travels overland through Europe, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Tibet & China. Travels with the Mujahadeen(?) through Afghanistan when it was occupied by the Soviets. Well worth a read.

'Closed' Vinyl LP's?
I recently bought The Mars Volta 'Frances The Mute' album on vinyl and noticed that at the end of each side instead of the needle running into the centre, the needle jumps back a groove or two and the songs carry on as a loop.
