Back in the day, when I went nowhere but London, Vinyl Experience was the place. I almost exclusively traded US rare stuff with them. They are gone now. I always thought Selectadisc in Berwick St was pretty good. There was that shop in Camden High St w/the spiral staircase in the middle, just before...

These Were The Earlies CD
Its been a while since I was unable to stop playing a particular CD. This CD falls into that category.
Kind of like the record Grandaddy, or latter day Mercury Rev, wished they could make.
An absolute stunner!

Ironic, isn't it, that our friends at a certian arrogant London record shop had a seemingly endless supply of the vinyl. For 6 quid no less. This went on for a couple of years. I used to go in there an buy 10 copies at a time. I must have bought between 50 to 75 copies there. Runcible remembers. The...

No I only edited out the advert-ish part. The problem wasn't defending their policy. After 3 emails from me they never responded. Its not an axe to grind. They are assholes. You should read the emails I finally got back. Only after I filed a complaint to Paypal. That is the only thing that got their...

you have the correct CD. The seller probably packaged it that way to keep it flat. Which is pretty nice. All the copies I have seen have the embossed pedals. i have never seen on with black pedals. It may just be how the digital pix come out in the ebay listings. I dont think FUI was ever repressed....

It was only my haste in trying to get an answer out of Sister Ray that precipitated all this. I paid w/Paypal and only have 30 days in which to make a claim. They should be made to change their name because they dont deserve Sister Ray. More like Twat Central. Figures from a shop that was spawned by...

Got up Christmas morning all excited at the prospect of opening up my Munster 7" black sleeve and WWJ 12" Mayking T/P but it was all to no avail ! I don't think he's all he's cracked up to be ! Apparently he could track down my Do It All Over Again double pack from Uraguay w/the rare edit...

MVE? That was my classic record shop meltdown of all time! I used to go in there at the end of every record swapping/buying trip to London from 1984 thru 1995. 90% of what I traded was stuff everyone else passed on. Yet it was till rare enough to be sent upstairs to the deletions dept. One day i wal...

Beware of Sister Ray in London
I have to relate this story. When word spread of this 22-20's remix 10" I searched and found Sister Ray in London had 2 copies. i ordered both + a cd single. I was taken aback by the 12 quid s&h they charged but figured I wasn't likely to find these 10"s anywhere else so I ordered them...

Runcible, you are correct, the long version of I Travel, Love song, the remix of Sweat in Bullets, in fact all those early Virgin singles and the Sons and Fascination and Sisters Feelings Call albums are good (so is most of New Gold Dream too) but what I didn't want to encourage is anybody standing...

I just had this idea. Since, according to many message board users and lurkers, this board is one of the most active. Is it out of the realm of possibility that we can put together some sort of collective to raise some money for those in need in Southeast Asia? Why not? I dont have a particular char...

Thats pretty subjective. I mean, humor is ok. But almost everything I am into, if there is humor, it is unintentional. I just look at the aforementioned bands, Oingo Boingo, Dead Milkmen and just find it stupid. I dont want to paint myself as this grey, humorless person. I just dont look to music fo...
