they're not particularly loud now. I think most bands tend to tone that down as they get older (extreme volume can be considered a gimmick)- MBV, Mogwai etc MBV hadn't toned it down at all when I saw them in 2008. My ears rang for days. I don't remember Ride being that exceptionally loud back when....

That Drive Blind sounds bloody ferocious. Saw them quite a few times back when but I wish I was going to see them now. Just can't afford a trip to London. Hopefully they'll do a full tour and come somewhere a bit nearer the South West.

That Peel session is one of my favourite things they ever recorded.

The horns on "Angel Sigh", just the whole "Feel So Sad", and the swell of guitar at the beginning and freakout at the end of "Smiles" are absolutlely brilliant.
