Lazer Guided Melodies 30th birthday
I'm sure it's not escaped folks that LGM celebrated its 30th birthday on Wednesday. That makes many of us feel old of course but a listen to it for the umpteenth time showed how remarkable that album is. It still sounds as fresh as ever and the extraordinary beauty throughout hasn't faded in any way...

Pretty devastating news. Whilst his lifestyle and health issues are widely known he seemed to be a survivor. Very sad. He was younger than me too. A predictable medley of his music lined up for today. RIP to one of the great voices of our era.

I watched this too. For starters trying to get that band's history squeezed into 2 hours was ambitious. It should have been 3 or 4 2 hour episodes. They had a lot of dead air with slow shots of people's faces which seemed like a waste of screen time. I guess the 'arty' angle proved too much to resis...

Been enjoying the new Cheval Sombre track that dropped yesterday. Apparently it's a Grateful Dead cover . I must admit my ignorance of the Dead, but I do like this 8 min laid back droney vibe. Wow indeed. This version became the “line dancing”😩 version Mark spoke about. Was that the Brudenell? They’d been slowing it down for a while. I prefer to call it a “country shuffle” 🤣 I think the tour where I saw them play it in line dancing style - sorry but that was what I thought of at the time...

That ULU show with Spacemen 3 supporting the Gaye Bykers was my first sp3 show. It completely blew my mind, but I have to say the Bykers were part of that. I liked a bit of metal when I was younger and still enjoy a spot of Deep Purple occasionally. But most of that type of music I like - AC/DC, Sabbath - I wouldn't regard as metal really. Then a lot of school mates into stuff like Led Zeppelin - 1975 I guess - who I got into big time, plus an older cousin into a...

I hadn't played QSAC for about 20 years so I got stuck into it again after reading your post. And it's so damn good! I'd...
