This sounds really good upon first listen. I think a Low best of compilation could be amazing, but they've never put out an album that has blown me away start to finish.

I find Low a very mixed bag. I've heard superb songs at times and then stuff which sounds dull at other times.

This is OK but does anyone else think it sounds a bit like Blur?

My favorite Low song is the one Low song most loyal fans hate, Canada. Its a rocker. Very un-Low like.
Hilarious video.

try as i might i've attempted to get into Low too, as on paper they sound like just my cup of tea. got a couple of albums (Secret Name and Things We Lost In The Fire) and apart from some isolated moments of loveliness, a lot of it does seem quite dull, they are almost too minimal for their own good. maybe i've just got the wrong albums?
great production though.

ive been going through their discography recently

i thought their first album had moments of beauty but then each following album felt like the same thing.

id rather just be listening to galaxie 500 to be honest

Only comparison worth making with G500 is that kramer mixed the first album.... I am a bit bias though...

Great track this, the worst off the new album though which is *fantastic*..

Can't wait for the uk tour, will probably be at all fo them if anyone is going. Anyone who hasn't really clicked with Low yet I would highly recommend starting with Trust, apart from the track Canada of course.. :P

Best band!

Oh, and I can confirm they are not fans of blur in the slightest, but I am working on changing their minds on that.

I don't really hear any similarities to Galaxie 500, either.

Does anyone have thoughts on The Great Destroyer? There are at least three or four killer tracks on that one.

Love great destroyer, couple of duds along the way, not so keen on monkey to be honest. Crazy that robert plant covered 2 tracks off that... Step is one of my favourite low tracks, fantastic chorus and lyrics.

I love this song.

On the DVD included in the Lifetime boxed set there's an 'easter egg' on the video where you can make the rock ending bit loop round forever. :D
It's nice to be liked,
But it's better by far to get paid.

I cannot adequately express my love and admiration for this band. Every time I listen to them I almost have hope for music again...

I think Low are great and Galaxie 500 totally suck!

I think there's highpoints throughout the Low catalogue, but the debut is yet to be bettered.

The new song is pretty nice.

It's worth pre-ordering just to listen to the full thing. The best thing they've put out since Trust.

I'm trying to work out how you've survived a day without being electronically flayed to death for such a sacrilegious comment as that!

I may not be the biggest G500 fan but I can't really associate the word 'suck' with their music. I'm no big fan of Low either - the bits I like are regarded as non-typical as they are too noisy for Low purists.

Can't make it unfortunately. If it was in Leeds I might have been more interested but Sheffield is a bit of a pain to get back from anyway.

I don't think it's too much of a stretch to compare Galaxie 500 and Low..

I remember Jason bigging up Luna in an interview where he said they were good at writing observational and specific lyrics, as opposed to Jasons big sweeping themes

I'm sorry, I don't think Galaxie 500 suck. I'm just not that into them. The White Stripe on the other hand.....
