The Heads-silly prices on eBay

Post by olan »

Two limited edition CDs went up for aution, there was a thread on here somewhere about them, but I can't find it. Anyway

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEDWX:IT

and if you thought that was good, try this:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... K:MEDWX:IT

Over 300 quid for two CDs, neither of which came in a brown paper bag!!!

That's becoming a regular thing now. Someone paid over £200 for one of the ultra limited releases not too long ago yet that promo LP of Tilburg sold for about £50 despite it being hand made and only about 10 produced!

Two different sellers with Tilburg cds for sale at reasonable prices (for now anyways!) Someone here might be interested.

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/120987375567?ssP ... 1438.l2649

The guy who has a bid on the first one I hold personally responsible for causing Heads prices to skyrocket over the past few years. He seems to bid on every item and is quite prepared to spend stupid money every time. In saying that, he did lose out on a cd a month or two back. I'm ashamed to say it but it actually made me smile that he missed out!

It's nice to be liked,
But it's better by far to get paid.

This is the new Cardinal Fuzz release. 150 on coloured vinyl. There were also 25 very limited hand made sleeves produced with the same vinyl inside. A pretty tasty package all round.

It would have been cool to get one at £20 on the Cardinal Fuzz site. A real bargain. £75 is way outside my budget.

I've spent the last few weeks effing and blinding about missing out on Inner Space Broadcasts - Volume 1 Part 1 including considering bidding on the listing on eBay mentioned previously. Anyhow, I got a nice email from Piccadilly today telling me my pre-ordered and previously paid for copy of the LP has just been mailed to me. So :D for the new Heads LP on the way and :( for yet another sign of my advancing mental decay.

The mental decay bit is OK though, I'll have forgotten all the angst in minutes and will still enjoy the LP.

There is another copy on eBay at the moment at £24 with 7days and 5 hours left so I would not be surprised to see that top £100.

I've managed to get a copy from good old Norman Records for £20 :D . I think it's probably the black vinyl but never mind.

They might have more if anyone is still looking for this.

Very tempted to get this, and seen that Norman are still showing some in stock. Also saw on the Cardinal Fuzz FB page those last remaining coloured copies get snapped out (I was a few hours too late). Talking of all things Cardinal Fuzz...are they going to do a 2nd allocation of memberships? I've messaged on the Optical Sounds forum but had no reply as of yet. And while we're talking about Optical Sounds....anyone have any idea when the next issue of that is due?

I know another issue of OS has been completed but there's been a lot of activity for the label so I'm guessing a minor delay. No idea about the membership I'm afraid.

My copy of Inner Space was delivered yesterday and I've listened to side one.

It's really is quite awesome. I'm looking forward to playing it much louder tonight when the mrs is out and the kids are in bed.

I would suggest anyone hesitating about getting a copy hesitates no longer :!:

The black vinyl also comes with a lovely coloured insert

When I saw that a month or two ago I had to shell out on a black vinyl copy too because I thought the coloured insert looked far nicer than the gold one with the coloured vinyl (which i'd already ordered).

I must admit, I was stalling on forking out £20 for 2 tracks, especially as I would have ideally liked to have got one of the coloured vinyl copies direct from The Cardinal. But I've just seen that my local record store has some black vinyl copies and I had to give in and get one put by for me. It appears that even the birth of son and the loss of income from Christmas and unpaid paternity leave (I'm self employed) cannot kerb my record buying habit.

Aargh!!!! My black vinyl arrived from Piccadilly today.....with a GOLD insert. The only reason I bought it was for the coloured one. If there was a smiley of banging ones head against a brick wall i'd be using it now :(

No coloured vinyl was available anywhere except through the label. You have a metallic gold insert? Those are pretty rare so you did OK.

I'd ordered the coloured vinyl through the label but then ordered the black vinyl from Piccadilly a few weeks later once I saw that there was a COLOURED INSERT with the black vinyl only. Hence my mild annoyance. Although if there's fuck all black vinyls with a gold insert well then, yes, i did ok.

Just grabbed this off of E-Bay earlier today:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300881760996? ... 1439.l2649

Have I grabbed myself a bargain/collectors item or is this one of the less rare items in The Heads' back catalogue?

Anybody want to pay me stupid money for a white label test pressing of their first 7" (Rooster 1, "Quad")?

It will go on Fleabay this summer if not.

Are we allowed to do this here? Delete if not. Sorry.

Yeah but did you see that a copy sold for under £150 last week? Man that's cheap. Only 25 produced and each one hand made.

Just noticed this on eBay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/THE-HEADS-INN ... 1e81537972

This is the more readily available version and cost £14.00 on release about a month ago! I wonder what the colour version will fetch when it hits eBay? (For once I did not have to pay through the nose for a Heads release thanks to a handy "Heads-up" (sic) on this board)

Missed out on this one when it was released :-( . Can't justify spending that much on it now.

I might be naive, but why don't The Heads release their stuff in greaters quantities? surely the demand is there
