My Bloody Valentine unreleased / rare lp

Post by KingHarry »

I've only recently become aware of the unrealeased / partial released post-loveless material. E.g.

2 - (La La La Humans Steps)
Glider (extended mix) - (Glider EP Remixes 12", Creation CRE073X, 1990)
Sugar (Free Flexi)
Kevin Shields No. 1 / 2 / 3(soundtrack for La La La Humans Steps)
Incidental
Instrumental A
Instrumental B
All The Time in The World
MapRef

Maybe more?

Has anyone ever wrapped the 4 tracks off Lost in Translation s/track (City Girl, Goodybye, Ikebana, Are You Awake?)
into these, a la Tremelo type link/ghost tracks, to make up a much wanted Loveless follow up?

Seems a belter.

That's most of them.

There is also a post-Loveless demo track generally referred to as "Cowboy Song" that has been confirmed as genuine.

Map-Ref 41n 93w is a Wire cover that was on a magazine cover disc. Probably the best of the "new" material.

Not entirely sure of my dates here, but have you heard the cover of 'We have all the time in the world?' I think it was free on a cover mount CD with Vox magazine. It is a fantastic cover.

Silly me, just read the thread properly. It's already on there. The shame!

Yes had missed Cowboy Song.

There's also 'Bilinda Song' that I'm currently spinning. Which is just brilliant.

Of all this stuff, I'd agree Map-Ref is vital, as is Instrumental B, Sugar (that I'd never heard before) and the really understated cover of We Have All the Time in the World.

I'm going to try and tie it all together, not my forte though, sure it must have been done before.

Map Ref was on a Wire tribute album called "Whore - Various Artists Play Wire", released in 1996. Also features tracks from Lush, Laika, Lee Ranaldo and Mike Watt

We Have All The Time In The World was on a compilation called Peace Together, released in 1993. Features Curve & Ian Dury, Blur, PWEI and Carter USM.

Here's most of it:

Sugar
Good For You
We Have All The Time In The World
Incident One (Incidental?)
Bilinda Song
Cowboy Song
Kevin Song
Map Ref 41N 93W
Instrumental A
Instrumental B
Cycle (w/The Pastels)

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18308441/My%20B ... rities.rar

I'm afraid it's all pretty crappy 128kb/s quality but that's how I received it. Sorry.

don't apologise! thank you!
'raging and weeping are left on the early road
now each in his holy hill
the glittering and hurting days are alomst done
then let us compare mythologies
i have learned my elaborate lie
of soaring crosses and poisened thorns'

You can't imagine how long I've been crawling through MBV threads over past 48 hours trying to pick all this up.

There are a few more

2

Glider Extended

Incidental Peace
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=30WPSI04

Outro

Hope these links work - I checked them all out last night and they were ok, but I had mulitple links, so not sure these are correct ones.
Think I've got all the above plus the Natty tracks in 320, will try and log them at some point.

Also the '87 Peel Session - http://www.inkoma.com/pages/my_bloody_valentine.html

All The Time was also available on a Vox/Island sampler CD: http://www.last.fm/music/Various+Artist ... %2B%252794

I still have an original of this lying around somewhere. :D

I can't get the link for '2' to work, which is a shame because it's a good track. Can't find it elsewhere. Anyone?

The other tracks to throw in would be the Lost in Translation tracks, and there is also some work KS did for some dance group (I think) - La La La Humans Steps (called Kevin Shields 1, 2 & 3). The only problem is that they don't fit that well (other than City Girl off LiT), as they don't actually sound that much like MBV, not featuring that signature reverse reverb.

I might be able to get you a FLAC of All The Time In The World tomorrow; I'm pretty certain that the CD is in work. ;)

Haha, ironically that's the only one I've got in 320. Cheers though, like.

i highly approve of this! i'm surprised no one on an MBV board/fan site has already done it though!?
i would offer up some help, but i know certain other people here actually know what they're doing with stuff like mastering/mixing, so for now i'll just check out the tracks and offer up a running order.
i've purposefully avoided listening to new material up til now, so hopefully i should have a fresh perspective towards the material and how it might fit together best. i encourage others to do the same. in the meantime, hopefully we can gather up the tunes in high quality.

also, can someone reupload that '2' track? the link appears to be broken, for me at least..

That song "2" is really something -- waves of sensuous drones, like spacemen 3 in a massage parlor.

Anybody have any information about where it's from? This song by itself demonstrates that kevin shields is a master of cosmic sound, up there with nick mccabe, j., and sonic boom.

it's from a soundtrack that Shields did for a dance troop I believe - called La La La Human Steps. There are also tracks 1 and 3. Less impressive in my opinion, certainly less MBV look a like.
