Greetings from Twentysixdollars, Runcible, Spzretent, Bzainspace, Modlab and Sunny, the moderators of this forum!

Most new users start off in the Music forum so we thought it best to address you here. If you're new to the messageboard, please be aware that there are some (formerly unwritten, now sadly very constitutional) rules for conduct here. They're mostly, as you'll see, commercial.

Don'ts:
1> Do not, under any circumstances, post messages indicating that you have merchandise, tickets or CDs to sell in any section other than 'Cop Zone'. Direct links to Ebay are also a no-no so please don't add any. Such adverts will be deleted!

2> Do not, under any circumstances, post adverts for your band and then promptly leave the board. I'm certain you think your band is fabulous (well, I've seen them, and they're not) but no one cares. So many bands "sound like Spiritualized" now that it would be more novel if yours didn't. However, many regular posters here are in bands and we encourage those posters to keep us abreast of their musical activities. But new posters who just want to tell us that they'll be playing a bar mitzvah in Lake Tahoe will not be welcomed.

3> Do not post threats, personal insults, racial slurs, sexist slurs, or any account of what you'd like to do to another poster at any given time. If you're not capable of lively discourse without resorting to childish name-calling, maybe you're not quite ready for the internet. Posts such as these will be deleted at our discretion.

4> Do not post spam here! If you decide that a great way to introduce yourself is to show just how many sites you can list which link to every possible sexual deviancy or online pill pushers then not only will your initial post be deleted but you will not be permitted to post again. User names and IP addresses can both be blocked.

5> Do not repeat your posts in various sections of the board. Repeat posts will be deleted.

Do's:

1> Engage in lively, stimulating, and even angry debate, as long as you don't violate section 3 of the above Don'ts.

2> Make use of the other forums. Discuss live shows in Gigs, the Spacemen 3 in...well, Spacemen 3, and all things great and small in Other. This is not to say that anything interesting will be frowned upon in Music; off-topic posts are encouraged. But the other forums need this kind of material too.

3> Post polls. They're fun.

If you have questions contact us by private message. For forum-specific information contact the respective mods of any given forum.
