Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats

Post by redcloud »

A friend sent me this link saying he stumbled on it and thought of me! :D

Crap name but pretty sweet sounds (and cool video). Anybody know more about this band?

Got the LP through the other day. I really like - sometimes wish the guitars were a bit more psych but nice and heavy and some very catchy grooves. Love the name!! There is also a Volume 1 out there - worth seeking out (er as a download since only 20cdrs were done...) Interviewed for next issue of course!!

Right on sonic! Is it a serious album or is it more of a psych-exploitation record? Are they American?

About the name - "The name Uncle Acid was taken from Rusty Day of the great band CACTUS. Before he was killed he had a band called UNCLE ACID AND THE PERMANENT DAMAGE BAND. So, It’s a tribute to him"

How about this

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Uncle-Acid-De ... 5890217786

Sorta think do I let my principles get in the way? Could have bought this for £35 on the morning (thinking you would at least double your money on it) but something feels bad if you buy a record to deny someone else that chance... I want for the regular at £18. BUT when you could make £450 profit (taking off fees etc) hard not to think that would have been Christmas sorted for the kids/family... Does not seem fair on the band that someone makes that amount of money out of there work when they are struggling to press up cdrs to sell themselves?

You are a better man than I. I would have snapped it up. But then I make a living buying things and re-selling them.

They are certainly not happy about the flippers making more money on one blood splattered album than they did on selling the lot
