Spiritualized - Other Voices - Full set mastered

Post by They Transmit »

Here's the set mastered from Olli's MP3 file, brought all the levels up, balanced the sound in places and warmed up the original recording.

I didn't download the set, and don't intend to because I'm going to wait for album release to hear the new songs, but thanks for your effort! It's definitely an important addition to the canon and I'll probably be interested in hearing it come March 19.

Good man, sadly though looking at my download log you are in the minority. Maybe people think this stuff just kinda does it itself. This'll be the last one I post though.

The fact that so many people have downloaded it means that your work has been greatly appreciated, Neil! I chopped up all of the tracks last night and can post a new download link for anyone who wants individual tracks instead of one large mp3. Just let me know if there is interest.

Hey, I'd love if you can send me the link for the individual tracks.

If you need it, my email is brianc1211@yahoo.com. Thanks. I'm so excited for the new album and hearing these tracks was like an early birthday present

Hey They Transmit, thanks a million for all your work on this, just downloaded it late last night but won't listen to it till after I have the wax in my hands, I'm old fashioned in that regard. I really appreciate it.

I always actively avoid pre-albums streams etc, I like to sit down, play each side and look at the album art/inner sleeve etc. I'm sure I'll have something to say about this RAH gig once I can compare it to the studio release. Same with Wilco for example, they always stream their records pre-release but I ignore them until I have it in my mits.

Great work and many thanks man, I do appreciate it.

This is kind of making me sick.
No one on the life of this message board ever demanded thanks for something they did. Or something no one asked them to do. Not the person who compiled the Real Complete Works. Not another person who kindly uploaded boatloads of shows...Spaceline(remember him?). And I am sure I am forgetting plenty of people.
Some kind soul uploaded their recording of a show. Neil decided he could do better and tweaked it. Twice.
Thank those who taped the shows. Which is what I think most people were doing.
Not someone whose post precipitated the deluge of thanks.
Rant over.

This is precisely why I left this board in the first place you sanctimonious ......... I didn't just tweak it as you say it was quite a few hours worth of work in total but hey what's that in the great scheme of things eh...

Enjoy the board, we both know you have a personal axe to grind. I'll not be back again.

Your choice. You threatened this before when we politely asked you to stop using the message board as your personal TT advertising space. I know people on here like your band. I do too. If that is what you are referring as "my personal axe to grind" well, you were wrong then and you are wrong now.
You call me sanctimonious.

I fucking hate these pledge sites. There is another popular one called Kickstarter. If McCulloch is so excited about his material and feels that it's as magical as the Bunnymen classics, then surely he is confident that he'll make his money back on it. In my opinion, if you're not comfortable with the risk involved in financing your album, then you shouldn't be making one. Don't ask your fans to pay for it in advance and try to coax them into buying extra crap just because you're nervous about putting your money where your mouth is.

Seriously?
Surely the Bunnymen sold a helluva a lot of records. Then a box set. Then remasters.
How do these artists go thru money like this?

I agree completely. The idea of Independence of Thought and Action includes the possibilty of failure; don't ask
others to fund your piggy bank, no matter HOW full OR empty it is.
IF the people like it, they will buy it, they will tell others; the success will be a LEGITIMATE ONE!

i think most of the money went to the respective labels, plus his life style of (alleged by witnesses with bruises) cociane then beating up women, his currently falling to pieces on stage (when i saw him solo last time he went off stage after trying to fight a punter), still being bitter (never being as big as u2 as bill drummond didn't want them to go up his backside, then left and up they went anyway),
smokeandsteam wrote:

Put into that perspective it must be hard for some bands as they age and become more irrelevant. Especially for someone like Mac. Who took pops at his peers on the way up.
Also being as vain as him as the aging process takes over apparently letting your life spiral out of control a bit.
I have heard amazingly great stories of newer live Bunnymen shows from Kelley Stoltz, who was/is a massive Bunnymen fan and an old record shop customer of mine, who has opened for the Bunnymen on some of the later US tours.
