20 20's Spaceman remix

Post by dazed »

Just got a copy of the 20 20's Hold On 10" with a remix by Jason. Does anyone know why he has called it a Spaceman remix and not Spiritualized as other remixes have been? :?:

to save me spending another fruitless twenty minutes going round in circles on the piccadilly records site - can anyone give me a link? it doesn't come up under 22-20s or hold on. i'll nip and buy it tomorrow but would like to hear a clip if there's one around ...

THIS:

22-20s : Hold On - Spaceman Remix Heavenly
Hold On (Spaceman Mix)
Hold On (Instrumental Mix)

Remixed by J. Spaceman, who's drawn the track out into a huge Spacemen 3 style sonic mantra, need i say anymore!!!?!! And it's backed with an exclusive instumental mix, this is essential!!!!

10" - HVN14810P - not currently available - sorry!
Strictly limited promo 10" - 500 copies only! SORRY BUT THIS IS JUST ONE PER PERSON.

Seen this morning (cut/paste from the Picadilly site linked above) would seem to suggest that they've run out.
Bah.

That wouldn't make such a good xmas present, would it (happy xmas darling...you shouldn't have...)

(by the way, didn't you kill music?!!!?!? )?

So, I've ordered one from Sister Ray, so thanks for that link. Now, to await the postman, naively.

good work kids!

i've just got back from town and picked one up - i think piccadilly records might have two more left, but i'm not sure, there was some confusion with a mini-lp that the twenny-two-twennies released.

it's well good; it's like the individual on guitars. are there horns or is that just jason twisting guitars up to sound like it?

Seeing as its Christmas!

It sounds like an old Spacemen 3 track. 2 chords, random harmonica, tremolo guitar running all the way through. Really simplistic drumming. The same guitar rhythm all the way through. I think Picadilly records descibed it as a mantra. Quite fitting.

Just got the CD this morning and it's excellent. But I must admit that I thought it would've had singing on it rather than it being instrumental. I'm not disappointed just not what I expected.

An MP3 of this is up--for a few days, at least--at 20jazzfunkgreats.blogspot.com.

Should stay up for a week or so? Like most blogs, it rotates. But for those who don't have the single, another way to get this track.

A pleasure. For those of us nowhere near Watford, some easier access.

It is good though, eh?

I've been into this band for a few years, I'm glad they're finally getting noticed. Will be going to their gig next week. :D

Seems like the gig has been cancelled. Crap.

Just received this in an email;

'We are writing to inform you that 22-20S
at Carling Academy Islington, London on 19/08/2005
has been cancelled, and will not be rescheduled.'
