The Heads News

Post by keeponrockin »

As fans of The Heads here know, if you are not on top of things with their releases, you don't get one.

Their website subscription expired and is no longer functioning. They have a Facebook page (I hate Facebook) and a Myspace (Ditto) page but news seems to be no longer easy to find.

Does anyone know where they are making official announcements now?

I saw this on the Rocket site:

The Heads - Live at The Cube
(The audio taken from the forthcoming Heads DVD...two sets, 'rock' set and 'psyche' set, reminds us what such an amazing show that was)

Also the Red Vinyl re-issue of Relaxing With... is on Pre-Order but I can't find a tracklist. Is this just the original repressed?

Cheers

The Relaxing reissue is single LP Red vinyl 300 press. Think its confusing because the blurb I saw is mixed in with the cd reissue from last year which featured a whole slew of excellent bonus stuff.
Cube dvd is something special I can tell you
Also keep an eye out for Simon Prices solo LP kandodo which is getting the vinyl treatment via thrill jockey. Comes with eye popping in art on the gatefold. The everybody knows we got nowhere 2cd reissue is also finished no release date yet. + A special release that i cannot mention but y'know just keep your eyes open in the month of April!

Hey Sonic124

Maybe my post was unclear.

This is exactly what I am asking...

WHERE should I be "keeping my eyes open"???

Their Facebook page is as good as it gets at the moment. Generally most things are announced there.

Well both pressings of Enten-Eller sold out - that's about as recent as things have got.

Thanks for that. I got an email the other day asking me to pay for a copy. It should get here any time soon. I have so far resisted Facebook. It just seems pointless to me ( the irony of my posting this view on a message board is not lost on me).

I'm guessing this is the Live At Radio 1 album that's been mentioned as a Record Store Day release by someone on their facebook page? If it is an RSD release the chances of me getting it here in Ireland are zilch. :(

yep tis rsd release. Ive heard its a 500 pressing of which 200 are for the UK and rest worldwide. 500 is quite a few so i reckon you'll be able to track one down fingers crossed.

CD arrived today. Paul sent it to my old address in Australia, so it took a while to get back to the UK! Will give it a blast in the morning when the required volume won't get me an ASBO.

Anyone know if we'll be able to buy the Relaxing With vinyl and/or Live At Radio 1 direct from the band themselves? I've held off pre-ordering the Relaxing album so far as i'd rather get it from the band.

Seems like the Thrill Jockey pressing is pretty much the same as the cd that came out last year, right?

Anyone know what's up with the Relaxing With LP? The Norman Records website says the expected release date was April 2, but it doesn't seem like they've received any stock yet.

EDIT: Their FB pages says the release date is now May 7th.

Yeah I realised that after I'd posted it!

Your link works but if you search for it on the site it doesn't come uop, or didn't when I looked. Grab 'em while you can...

Yeah, I found that too. Searching didn't bring anything up either under "the Heads" or "Enten Eller". The link was from the "Relaxing With..." vinyl page (which I must resist purchasing).

Really? Still haven't heard anything from Resident Records in Brighton who I ordered mine through. Feel like I've been waiting on this for some time now.

Mine arrived today from Norman. Yes it looks great but unfortunately the inner sleeve has a 1" split on 3 sides. :(

Picked mine up today. Only managed to listen to the first track so far as Mrs Shines HAS to watch that tosspot Andy Murray in the tennis :x  , but it looks and sounds wonderful. Looking forward to getting some opportunity over the long weekend to sit back, relax and crank it up.

Mine arrived today and it also has a damaged inner sleeve. Bummer. There is probably nothing that can be done about that.

From Rocket Recordings blog:

On other Heads news, Rocket are currently shifting through hours of unseen footage of the Heads to add to the two live sets the band performed at the Cube several years ago. All this amazing footage will be released on DVD sometime in 2013.

 8) :D

I've seen some clips from this and it looks awesome. One of the few Heads shows I just couldn't get to and it was meant to be one of the all time greats.

I was surprised that the growing up in Africa thing was true! Must admit, I thought it was yet another bullshit backstory created purely for the press to print something.

Enten Eller Special Edition black vinyl: Prof is currently selling these on Facebook, just message him. Only 50 made and he has 25, the rest will be on sale at the upcoming gigs. I think the inner sleeve might be the outer cover on these, that's how I understood it anyways.

He also has some red vinyl as well in the ordinary sleeve but there were 300 of them produced and will also be at the gigs.

Plus The Heads Live At Roadburn LP on the way: http://www.roadburn.com/2016/03/roadbur ... burn-2015/
The Cardinal is getting some of these.

Be quick on both I would say :)

No. Don't think it ever will. I'm sure I read somewhere that it wasn't going to happen due to a variety of issues.
