Ennio Morricone : 3xLP box : vinyl transfer

Records 1 and 2 are excellent. Record 3 is patchy at best. Worth a download, though, for fudge sake.

Hopefully, this will make up for my Pitchfork / Fiona Apple tirade.

Thanks for that, I've been listening to assorted Morricone collections on Spotify for a while, will give this a whirl.

Not yet TheWarmth, pretty busy here with the Euros and other stuff.

I don't have any Morricone so this is great. Pretty familiar with some of his scores, the obvious ones I suppose. My dad is also a big fan so know some form home too. Have often been checking out cheap LPs of his on eBay but never took the plunge! Shoulda bought that Mission OST LP for 99p a few months back :(

If you have any other recommendations of his LPs that'd be great too.

Anyway I'll let ya know what I think when I get around to it and thanks again, much appreciated.

ran across this, never heard of it

"Controfase" was released in extremely limited numbers, with Gemelli releasing only 500 copies, making it extremely difficult to find this release on vinyl. I consider this to be a masterpiece of dark avant-garde library music. Morricone implements mysterious and dissonant jazz percussion, ominous string arpeggios, and atonal ambient electronic sounds, all in his trademark style, creating a brilliantly dark statement in the process.

Year of Release: 1972
Label: Gemelli
Catalog #: GG.ST. 10.019
Genres: Library Music, Avant-Garde, Contemporary Classical

Track List:
A1. Controfase
A2. Tempo
A3. Soli
A4. Come Sommersi
B1. Con Ferma Ostinazione
B2. Follia
B3. Degenerazione
B4. Eclissi Seconda
