Gothenberg 1993

Post by good dope/good fun »

Anyone have this and want to sendspace it my way?
I recently moved and my copy is MIA.
Have something in my head and I need to hear it.
Instant karma will be returned your way.

Seriously though, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I assume that this, Live at Magasinit-Goteberg, Sweden 2-5-93, is the same show?

Much thanks.
I recall a time where it took weeks of waiting for the mail and the music it contained.
That took less than 40 seconds.

One's collection is not complete without that version of sway and the 11 minute walking with jesus. Classic show.

Thanks for this Beaker73. It appears to be much better quality than the version i have (Flac v mp3 i guess), although i've not listened to mine in a while so i may be imagining things. Still has the same annoying drop out during Clear Rush that mine has though :(
Great gig all the same. So much tremelo 8) They really were untouchable during this period.
If the May 2nd 1993 date is correct it's remarkable the transformation Take Good Care Of It underwent in the space of the 6 or 7 weeks lead up to Glastonbury.

Thank you.
Posts like these prompt me to go back and listen to some old live shows.
Listening to St Andrews Hall Detroit 1997 right now. A board tape. Fantastic!
As is the Gothenburg 1993.

I'm wondering if it's February 5 instead.

I've often wondered that myself as some of it sounds more like a '92 show than '93. So February would make sense as a transitional period. I just always assumed that as it's an FM Broadcast the original taper had the correct date.

setlist.fm says february: https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/spiritua ... 585f6.html
Date notation is always tricky if you just use numbers, some people put the month first, others the day. Which is especially confusing with a date like February 5th

Thanks for that :D Musically it just makes more sense.
I saw them in Dublin a week or two before or after this gig and they'd made the move up to a much larger venue (Tivoli) compared to their previous two visits in 1991 & '92 (Rock Garden). My abiding memories are of Clear Rush being burned into my skull for days afterwards, some crowdsurfing and a not as good gig as the two previous years (still very good obviously but not quite the head fuck of before). Saw them a couple more times in '93 and those were stupendous 8) :D

I like how this thread has gotten some new legs nearly 10 years after I started it.
So much that I went back yesterday and listened to the show again.
It still holds up.

Don't know if I have the Glastonbury show mentioned and now I'm intrigued to hear it.
Seems like there are kind people in this thread.
If any of you care to upload it here I'm sure it would be appreciated by many more.

The version of Take Good Care Of It from the Let It Flow singles were taken from 1994?
After they dropped the sax from that 1993 lineup.
That's not the Glastonbury version, right?

The Let It Flow b-sides are from Glastonbury 1993 so yeah that's the version i'm referring to.

Yeah that was one of my clues as well. The other dates in Sweden (ie Jan 31) wouldn't be subject to the same dating confusion as Feb 5/May 2 would be. Now, that's assuming all those dates are correct but there are a few of them that seem to track.
