Tons of bands around like that, at the poppier end of the shoegaze/psych/garage/indie world. Those who do bring the noise tend to forget that their influences actually had tunes too. I find it quite depressing that I've yet to hear a band even equal, let alone surpass, the JAMC and Spacemen 3 ( my musical totems ).

It's all very strange. My oldest son is 14 and in high school. He and the group of kids he hangs out with are all very into MBV, the Jesus & Mary Chain, and practically anything (late 80's - early 90's) that's on 4AD.
