Hello droners and folks!

This week the argentinian label Pléroma Discos has put out a tribute to Spacemen 3, Spiritualized and Spectrum entlited "Juigando Con Fuego" ("Playing With Fire")
you can listen and download it for free:

I participate with a re-version of "Fixin' To Die" from the Sp3 1984 demos.
Most of the songs are sung on spanish.

Hope you like it, I think it is an awesome effort.
Don't forget to spread the word dudes)))))))
Best Regards,

Wilder.

Nice!

I'm only of track four, but its sounding really good. Nice interpretations so far.

I quite literally will buy that for a dollar.

Thanks for posting.

mods- this is a post from purephase- it seems to have my name on it now (he just alerted me to this), please can you change it back to his name. thanks!

now is for free!
they said the dollar thing was a mistake about managing the page and put this bellow:

"This is a Spacemen 3 / Spectrum / Spiritualized tribute record, made by various artists with love and recognition, and non-profit intentions. Pleroma Discos and all participating artists have no rights on any song."

“You're not Dostoevsky,' said the citizeness

'Well, who knows, who knows,' he replied.

'Dostoevsky's dead,' said the citizeness, but somehow not very confidently.

'I protest!' Behemoth exclaimed hotly. 'Dostoevsky is immortal!”

E.A.R. is beyond form of songs... but you can listen to "Liquid Intentions" (Spectrum) covered by Pablo Reche
if you are waiting for a thing like that.. very EAR-esque piece of metamusic is that one

ha!, i think there was a bit of Lost in Translation in that last post.

just wanted to say thanks for this! it's a real treat, especially as i can speak Spanish (well sorta).

some of the best renditions i have heard in ages, any fan of all things SP3 related will really appreciate this project.

p/s- i would have gladly paid you a dollar for this! keep up the great work Fractal!

Thanks broder, I also think this latin american homage to Sp3 and related bands are fucking awesome!!
The folks of Pleroma Discos decided to put it for free so let the music flows and shines for everyone into the neo psych scene.
The other releases on the bandcamp of Pleroma Discos, Bosques releases are brilliant imo!!!

Also last week was 15 years of the release of the Fractal tape where the cover of Fixin' To Die comes.
You can listen to it for free here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7uU40LSW_g

Keep spreading the word on this comp... It's outstanding!

Congrats to you and everyone for pulling it off. Organizing them is such a hassle, and it's great when it all comes together. Love it!

Really nice covers! So good to hear some quality music from Peru :-)

I've visited that lovely country a few times, but the only local music I ever heard was mostly familiar traditional folk tunes (eg El Condor Pasa) from ensembles of varying quality, even when performed more for local folks rather than tourists, such as a political rally and concert I saw in Cuscuo's main square in or around 2006 (when President Alan was elected!).
I'm like Evel Knievel, I get paid for the attempt. I didn't promise this shit would be good!

Yes, I know what you mean.. 2 years ago I met via net a friend of the people of LANDING (you know them? space rock act) and he has come to Peru several times as his father is peruvian and never met anyone into this kind of music then when we met for the 1st time on the Major Plaza of Lima I went with a Sp3 t-shirt and he said to me, "where were you all these years I came?"

We are a 30 million population now. I guess it will probably be the same if I go to USA waiting to find folks into Labradford, Vladislav Delay or Moon Duo in the rough streets.

Here there are lots of other musics: folklore, classical, mainstream pop, mainstream latin-caribbean, etc etc..

You can read what an english website said about peruvian avantgarde scene in 2011. It is a good start.
Maybe when you come again to Lima, I can introduce you to my friends.

Really enjoyed that.
The Los Alamos reading of Walking With Jesus is everything a good cover should be. The version included here isn't the best one i have found but I always delight in being reminded of it.
