Re: Heads : Everybody Knows .... reissue/remaster
Thankfully, I've paid for the Psyche Fest, and a budget constraint might be a good thing thinking about the wicked after-effects of the Pzyche Red we drank so much of last year.
Bugger all that though! Given my fetish for expensive box sets it is clear which version of this I will be after.....

Re: Heads : Everybody Knows .... reissue/remaster

Re: Heads : Everybody Knows .... reissue/remaster

Re: Heads : Everybody Knows .... reissue/remaster

I know this is a first world complaint, but MP3 downloads, WTF lads, provide some FLACs please, especially for everything on the box set.

Re: Heads : Everybody Knows .... reissue/remaster
Think it's got to be the standard double vinyl version for me. As good as the box set sounds, I've got to reign in my obsession with picking up these box sets with Mogwai being the main culprits at the moment. Really looking forward to this release though

Box Set pre ordered....now to find some money to pay for it
Re: Heads : Everybody Knows .... reissue/remaster
I've put myself in debt for it but i just had to have that box set
Pre-ordered, and fairly shocked at how bad the exchange rate is at the moment, sooo expensive

Re: Heads : Everybody Knows .... reissue/remaster
CD version for 12 quid, free shipping, jobs a goodun.
eye watering prices like that often make me happy that I've never made the leap to the world of vinyl.
bit strange how Paul is back.. thought there was no going back there.
I wish the band toured more. with psych being in vogue now, I really think they put the graft in they could see some serious results.

Here's a picture of the box contents from the Kandodo (Simon Price) FB page. Looks tasty, I can't wait.

Received an email today from Norman saying my box set has shipped. Something to aid the recovery from LPF next week

I went into Probe yesterday on the off chance that my copy had arrived. It hadn't, ,but thy gave me a 2 CD promo of the set as a consolation prize .

Got my deluxe box set today, and yes this is fucking amazing. Sound is great, and the visuals are outstanding. I think I might frame that poster.
Re: Heads : Everybody Knows .... reissue/remaster
The box set looks incredible -- the pictures posted here twisted my arm -- order from Norman Records on its way
I think I feel it coming on
Re: Heads : Everybody Knows .... reissue/remaster
Money well spent. There is a lot of vinyl and a CD in the box, as well as assorted ephemera. I am absolutely loving this - a good idea of how a reissue should be done. Mogwai's CODY is nearly as good in terms of content, but is simply nowhere near in terms of quality of product.purespace wrote:The box set looks incredible -- the pictures posted here twisted my arm -- order from Norman Records on its way

Really interesting interview with Hugo here:
http://www.thesleepingshaman.com/interv ... en-morgan/
Highlights for me are the news that a Heads/McBain album is in the pipeworks, and as the rights have now reverted to the band more reissues are likely.
Lowlight: Not likely to do another album with Paul. No great surprise but anyway....

Finally checked out my download today. Very disappointed to discover that the bonus material is at a variety of low quality bitrates. Seems a shame after so much love and attention went into the boxset.

My favourite quote:
"[snip]......a new The Heads double album featuring John Mcbain** and a new Kandodo 3 (Simon Price, Wayne Maskell and myself) double album, both recorded and almost mixed ready for next year. "
Now announce warm-up dates prior to Roadburn please......

I've a feeling that once Roadburn is out of the way they'll be announced for LPF. Well that's what i keep telling myself anyway..

Re: Heads : Everybody Knows .... reissue/remaster
I was going to bu tickets for Roadburn, but I just don't see it happening. I had what would have been a mega-expensive near miss when they pulled last year . More to the point, if they do play Roadburn there is likely to be a warm up date or two, hopefully within striking distance of Liverpool.sunray wrote:I've a feeling that once Roadburn is out of the way they'll be announced for LPF. Would love to see The Heads at LPF, along with Spectrum for that matter. Most of the other contenders are probably too expensive. Mind you, I wish they would cut the number of bands by about 1/3 and allow everybody to play for an hour, and the main acts to get 1:20. I'm too old for all the feckin' rushing around.....
