ride back into the frey

“You're not Dostoevsky,' said the citizeness

'Well, who knows, who knows,' he replied.

'Dostoevsky's dead,' said the citizeness, but somehow not very confidently.

'I protest!' Behemoth exclaimed hotly. 'Dostoevsky is immortal!”

Awesome. For a moment there I feared this would be a thread about Glenn Frey!

it's so cool to see them back, and that's a great setlist including some rarities. However I'm not hugely interested in an acoustic Ride (although they were definitely more poppy songwriters than a lot of shoegaze bands)... I want them plugged in and cranked up loud please...

 I actually thought the same thing.

Have to agree with Angelsighs though, Ride acoustic doesn't interest me in the slightest. Nice setlist all the same.

there's rumours flying about of a Ride hometown show in Oxford sometime soon... this would be perfect for me as it's a short drive away... I am gonna keep my ear to the ground

i remember hearing an acoustic version of Close My Eyes that really moved me. I think it was Bell solo. The nuances of his voice really came out. It was lovely.

And hey ho - a quick youtube search and there it is.

My memory of it is much better than what you will find if you do that search. I guess it was all about the time and circumstances.

This would be amazing, I live very close and am working in Oxford at the moment. I will have to see what the locals are saying about it.
