That's what you call a rock and roll life !
Seriously, a proper legend and what I have seen and read a true gentleman. RIP Lemmy.

Just heard that The Specials drummer John Bradbury has died too.

Two great musicians gone on the same day. I've blasted Space Ritual '72 today, now for a bit of Specials.

Yes, it is very sad news.
At this time each year, on a "Classic Movie" channel, (TCM), in the USA; a list of names and images of those in Film and related entertainment who were lost during the year is shown. There are so many in Film and entertainment who somehow touch the lives of so many others in a positive way; and of course those lost in the music field; I have often thought of the great loss to us all when the sum of all a person has accomplished, or created, (or entertained) is suddenly gone.
All of the Creative Genius and experience; all the memories and all that one was in life is lost; we are lucky to have their paintings or writings or equations or music they left behind. Still, so much of what they knew and learned is forever lost. It is a sad loss indeed.

RIP Lemmy. Everyone respected and liked this guy, regardless of what music they're into. Even the mainstream British media has been putting his passing on the teatime news. Sad news.

Welcome to the 21st century - Lemmy's memorial will be broadcast live from Hollyweird, CA this coming Saturday. Didn't know that he wanted to be buried in the US instead of UK ?

Late Motorhead frontman Lemmy will be the focus of a new BBC documentary.

Lemmy: In His Own Words is available on iPlayer from today (January 22) at 9pm and is comprised of archive footage from BBC interviews and live performances.

Footage from the documentary has been taken from previous BBC series including I'm In A Rock 'N' Roll Band and Heavy Metal Britannia plus live performances including Motörhead appearances on Later...With Jools Holland, The Young Ones and Top of the Pops.

BBC Music editor James Stirling says: "Lemmy was a colossal figure in British music and he had a unique approach to both his songs and the industry he found himself in.

"There was a smart sense of humour at the heart of everything, something clearly demonstrated through his interviews and performances we've uncovered from the BBC Music archive."
“You're not Dostoevsky,' said the citizeness

'Well, who knows, who knows,' he replied.

'Dostoevsky's dead,' said the citizeness, but somehow not very confidently.

'I protest!' Behemoth exclaimed hotly. 'Dostoevsky is immortal!”
