David Holmes is producing the new Noel Gallagher album. Should be cool.

David Holmes is a phone in guest on my friends internet radio show tonight, talking about the new album. If you wanted to listen in then click here from 8pm to 10pm http://www.shipfullofbombs.co.uk/ .

It's a great station, I sometimes pop up as a guest now and then, which makes it doubly great (kind of). Based in Southend-On-Sea and named after a sunken World War II ship called SS Montgomery, which sits on our Thames Estuary sea bed laden with 1400lb of explosives still in it, making it a very deadly ship wreck indeed.

This is also said to be the reason why the "Boris Island" airport is a non-starter, according to a civil engineering specialist I was talking to recently. Apparently the proposed airport footprint goes over the sunken ship, and it's impossible to either clear the (now highly unstable) explosives or to blow them up, given the damage such a very big bang would cause.

Back on topic, I've taken delivery of my copy of this record, and can't wait to give it a play!

Good info and all true. The masts of the ship actually poke out of the water so there'd be that to contend with as well. It's a prime terror target for those wanting to do bad in the world for their political/mad ambitions. Still, some people still swim or paddle up close for a photo shoot..........natural selection and all that.

My friend Daryl, who's hosting tonights show, assures me that the album is something special indeed. I heard a track from it on 6Music over the weekend, some spoken word on it, really nice stuff. I'll be buying it when it hits. Kind of reminds me I haven't played the Unloved album in good while.

My copy arrived at the weekend. It's absolutely fantastic, the format/theme of these mixes suits Holmes perfectly.
