discuss.

my Top 10 would look a bit different to this. and I very much disagree with the writer that Rock Action is their best album.. in fact it's probably my least favourite!

Another list!! What would we do without them at this time of year??
Latecomer to Mogwai tbh, the last 5 yrs probably, have seen them 5 times now but don`t own all their albums, but for me that looks an okay-ish list really, Helicon probably is my fav Mogwai tune, I do like I`m Jim Morrison And I`m dead though, It would probably make my top 10 and Bat Cat, love Bat Cat,

I do listen to Mogwai and find myself not really bothering with the titles so I probably like tunes I don`t even know the names of now I think about it. I`ve never felt the need to go backwards and consume everything they`ve released so I`ve never heard Mogwai Young Team, I`ll probably get round to correcting this :)

At first I thought it was "10 best albums" instead of songs. Both would be difficult, at best and subjective. I, agree that " Rock Action " is my least favorite. 10 Rapids and Young Team are certainly up there for me. Just found out that they will be playing (Atomic) in Berkeley next month.

better late than never!

I think Mogwai are a very consistent band. a couple of naff albums in there but generally their quality is really consistent, this and the fact that it's hard to remember the song titles means it's difficult to pick out highlights!

I would definitely agree with Helicon, Mogwai Fear Satan, and Cody being in there, I'd also pick out some other choice cuts such as Christmas Steps, 2 Rights Make 1 Wrong, Rano Pano, and if we are going with deep cuts- Tracey from the first album is beautiful and atmospheric.

I really don't get the big deal with Friend of The Night. The band seem to love it as they still play it regularly, but to me it's their 'Walking With Jesus'- bit of a drag as they have played it to death! Feel similarly about Hunted By A Freak.

It was a b-side to Rano Pano (and appears on the Central Belters compilation).
