Any Felt aficionados on the board? I'm toying with the idea of buying the imminent Cherry Red re-issues. (The first five albums - https://www.cherryred.co.uk/felt-decade ... uary-2018/) . I bought one of their albums a few year back - "Forever Breathes the Lonely Word". I like it, well, I like the music but not sure about his "Lloyd Cole" type vocals. They were a band which I thought I should buy more of , but never got around to it . It seems the appropiate time now, but at 25 smacker a pop, it's a big investment. I started to listen tot he first album on youtube and it sounds good - really good. I'm really tempted!

Re: Felt
Thanks for the offer Dreamweapon, but there is lots of their stuff up on youtube. I've started to listen to a few things this morning. I am impressed, and I think I'll be buying this re-issues. I hoep that Cherry Red include the singles from the period too. Just heard Primitve Painters with Liz Fraser, and it's a lovely track, but I don't think it's on any of the albums:

And this is a right gem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWql_-85A8c - great band!
Re: Felt
Another fan here! My long-time favorite song is Cathedral: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tCuHHHNi-l8
This track is a B-side of the Primitive Painters single (and, stegraham, Primitive Painters is from the album Ignite the Seven Cannons - and definitely among my top 5 Felt tues!).
That Cherry Red releases are certainly intriguing, but I reckon a CD and a 7" is more of a bundle than a boxset, and £24+shipping overseas is a bit steep for me. I already own the old versions of those records (I didn't recognize two of them at first, but they have different titles with the same tracks).
That said, I'm delighted to see some re-issues of this great band. I hope they're planning re-issues of the later albums, as Train Above The City is one of my absolute favorite albums of all time and I'd love to see it reach a broader audience. Also, Bubblegum Perfume is a great listen and worth a re-issue. Listen in full: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=di3A6F8m4VA
I'm not as keen on the sound of Lawrence's later bands such as Denim or Go-Kart Mozart as Felt, but I'm definitely going to get myself his new album in however long that's been!
