2018
So, 2018, eh? What releases are people looking forward to/hoping for? There's already quite a few albums in the pipe lines that have been given release dates.
Gulp - their second long player, follow up to Season Sun. Really like the latest single, Morning Velvet Sky. Got high hopes for this.
The Limiñanas: Shadow People - new album released last week, but not got yet. Thought the Istanbul is Sleeply 12" was fab.
Earthless: Black Heaven - six tracks, so maybe more "song" based than the usual epic jams?
Hanging Stars - thought their first album was great. Singles sound good off this new one too.
The Yearning - new mini LP. I think it was released last week, and I had it on pre-order but it hasn't turned up yet.
Eels: The Deconstruction - album number 12? Enjoying the title track from the album.
Sunflower Bean -really enjoyed Human Ceremony, but haven't thought much of the two songs I've heard from the new one. We'll see.
I'm hoping that 2018 will see Chevel Sombre release a new long player. Dean Wareham says he has recorded an album of country covers with Cheval Sombre - would be interesting to hear this. New Spiritualized? We can live in hope!

The new First Aid Kit album, Ruins, is fantastic. I'm also looking forward to Gaz Coombes' (Supergrass) new solo album.

Yes, I spotted this. I'm (or was) a big Supergrass fan, but I'm not so keen on his solo atuff. I thought the first album was better than the second, but my missus like's him so we'll probably get the one.TheWarmth wrote:I'm also looking forward to Gaz Coombes' (Supergrass) new solo album.

Interesting. I actually like Matador, the second one, better than the first. I listened to the first single from the new one as wasn't blown away, but I'm keeping an open mind because I think Gaz is an excellent songwriter and generally very reliable.

yeah that new song sounds great! it's a little less heavy and bit more spacey with the flute relatively low in the mixLaz69 wrote:

An email from Piccadilly Records has informed me that Dead Meadow and Belly have new albums appearing soon.
I'd be more excited about the Belly album myself but I know DM have a few fans here.
