Its good to be back

Post by clewsr »

Hey, Thanks Runcible, Modlab and Nightwash for all your work and amazingly being able to restore the content.

I was missing this place and had started to think it was just going to disappear, which would have been rather sad.

In other news, I forgot about record store day, and so still don't own Highs Low's and Heavenly Blows. Also I hear the Fucked Up inside remaster is pretty good?

I'll echo the above - huge thanks to Nightwash and Modlab for their sterling work and Runcible for going through that bullshit with Strato.

It's good to see the place back, and a phone friendly format also!

It was quite a thought to think that the years of combined music tales, recommendations, live reports and spacemen/curry threads had gone forever.

So again thanks to the fellas!

Phew! Thought i'd broken the place. Posted here for the first time in a while and the next day the forum was gone. Cyberspace is a lot less fun without the Outpatients.

Thanks for getting things back up and running. Perhaps now is the time to finally set up some sort of account for us to pay into so this doesn't happen again?

Ditto, well done. I too was trying, unsuccessfully, and wondered what was going on.

Another forum I frequent goes down relatively frequently - the mods have a dormant Twitter account that they post a status update on, which helps to keep people up to date. Hopefully won't happen again, but maybe an idea?

Thanks again for all your hard work. I don't post much, but check in most days, and am lost without it!

Thanks guys for getting us back up again. I too thought it was the end of it all and that would have been a real shame.

The first people in the queue at Resident in Brighton got there at 6.30am....on the Friday morning! A good 26 hours before the shop was due to open! I didn't get there till gone 6pm on the day itself and still managed to grab exactly what I wanted... Neil Young's Tonights The Night at The Roxy, Brian Eno/Kevin Shields split 12", Gnod/White Hills LP and the FUI reissue, which I can confirm sounds much clearer/louder than the original.

Everyone involved in this place appreciates the kind comments - I speak for the other guys but
I Know It's True.

I had quite a weekend myself away from all the RSD mayhem - where I live on the Aberdeenshire coast was hotter than Ibiza on the Friday, outstanding company and semi-Mediterranean feeling.

I wasn't bothered that much about the RSD stuff, but the Kevin Shields/ENO thing sounds amazing. Just going on that long dreaming drone thing they put on SoundCloud.

As someone else mentioned - The Isness original version sounds interesting.

very good to have the board back!
I'd stopped checking after a few days to be honest.. thought it might have been kaput! so this is a good surprise. thanks to the mods for keeping this place going. I don't think we'd know how much we appreciate it until it's gone.

on the subject of RSD.. when I walked to my local record shop at lunch time there was still a huge queue.. really couldn't be arsed! I popped in after work today and still managed to get the Dream Syndicate release. they had some other nice stuff (Dirty Three, Mogwai) but ultimately decided against spend big bucks for music I already own. so funnily enough picked up a couple of things from old RSD stock he'd also put out (Replacements, Spacemen 3).

now you've all said that the FUI is a great remaster, i still really want that!! if anyone sees one going spare..

Aquarian Time.. you seem to have covered all the bases there :O that's quite a hit to the bank account no?
