Losing Touch with my Mind Comp

Post by clewsr »

I hadn't heard of this before, but apparently it is a reissue. Might have to pick it up, given the name -

Not sure if it has been released before, but got this last week. I haven't had a proper chance to listen to all 3CDs more than once, but there are some tracks on it which are new to me and I think are great. I knew the name "legendy pinks dots" but never heard them before and I think their track on this is fantastic - definately going to check out the album it's from. Also on first listen the Seers track, Pysch Out, sounded like they needed more investigation.

I'm familiar with some of the stuff on here - Sp3 and Darkside (of course!), and also Moonflowers, Pale Saints, UVS, Primal Scream, Telescopes, Boo Radleys etc, but pletty of unknowns to explore. Surprised they didn;t include a Loop track.

I'm sure I can remember someone posting about a very similar compilation - possibly the same one - a while ago. Maybe last year sometime.

This box set covers 86-90, and it's a follow up to "Another Splash of Colour" which covers 80-85 and was released a couple of years back:

BTW, listened to "The Crushed Velvet Apocalypse" by the Legendary Pinks Dots. Not sure if it's my cup of tea really. Love the track, Princess Coldhart", on the Losing Touch comp, but there's nothign else really like that one one the album. Any fans?

love me a boxset, these are often not good for my bank balance though.
it's really a good way to cover a certain period in time, some bands are really obscure, or were only really good for one great single (nothing wrong with that). or of course less obvious choices from more well known acts.. it's all good..

I think it's a standard answer but I like The Maria Dimension best, maybe three quarters in it dips a little I think but lots of it is killer. I like the one you mentioned too though...
