I listened to this from start to finish last night after a really tough week in all senses and it blew me the fuck away.

I've never heard anything quite like it - I don't think I even heard a single guitar on there - its like the ambient/gospel end of Spiritualized at times and it's extraordinarily beautiful and emotionally devastating.

I don't even know if I'd want to play it a lot down the line but I highly recommend it...

A stunner, a really emotional record with lots of piano, psychedelic synths and spacey sounds . I haven't heard Nick Caves vocals with anywhere near as much emotion in his previous albums as in Ghosteen.
The release of this new album reminds me of when Black Star came out and I couldn't listen to the album again for some time after the initial listening.

I could only make it through the first track after having to stop it. It'll probably take me a while to listen to this. Nick Cave in generally brings up a lot of emotions from the past and an album like this is just devastating to me.

Quite something this album, not bought a Cave album since Nocturama so wasn`t sure what I was getting into here, no drums or guitars to speak of and a double to boot. Its beautiful and very touching, found myself getting quite emotional whilst listening to it, not sure its going to be a " go to album" as its not an easy listen but will give it another play or two over the weekend

wow.

based on your comments and a few others, i plan to dive slowly back into music (been listening to near zero past few years due to medical condition & some serious complicated grief issues) with this record.

ghosteen sounds like it might meet me exactly where i’m at. which is funny on some level, i suppose.

i’ve ordered it and am looking forward to hearing it, and using it to help me, as I'm guessing it helped nick in creating it.

thank, guys.
