An old friend from these parts, Paul Messis, got in touch today to let me know he has issued the new Cheval Sombre 7" on his label, Market Square Recordings. I wrote a few words on it but have also linked to his label website on Bandcamp as I'm sure there are a few fans here too.

Lead track can be viewed/listened to via the page above and also on YouTube.

Enjoy!

It's a great little record. Got a copy last week from Rough Trade. I am eagerly awaiting his third album. His last solo album, Mad Love, was released in 2012 - 7 years ago!

I see that Chevel's first album is getting released for the first time by Fat Elvis records - comes out today! The "label blowout" copies look fantastic:

I'd love to have a copy of this just to look at, nevermind play the thing. Only 25 copies of this version though, 300 of the normal coloured vinyl. Shall I try and get a copy? I love the album, but would I ever play the vinyl? The price isn't listed, but I bet it's going to be a few bob! Also, they go on sale at 4pm today from Norman Records (I think it's 4pm - it's 11 EST) and this is when I'll be cycling home from work - so they'll all be gone by the time I get home! Nevermind - they do look great though!
