Vinyl Pressings

Post by spzretent »

While I realize it is cost prohibitive for UK/Europe fans there are a number of labels over here in the US that are doing fantastic pressings.
Obviously what Vinyl Me Please did with Ladies And Gentlemen was outstanding.
There are other labels doing fantastic pressings.
Intervention Records head that list. Though I am not that into a lot of what they reissue I have purchased Flying Burrito Brothers- Gilded Palace Of Sin, Gene Clark- White Light and the one that floors me every time I play it is Big Audio Dynamite- This Is Big Audio Dynamite.
Run Out Groove are stunning pressings too. I own several of those. Dr. John, Stooges, Echo & The Bunnymen, Bettye Lavette, Luna and more. Everything is first class with those LPs.
Also I thought the Craft Recordings reissues of the first two Big Star records were excellent.
Anything pressed by Quality Recordings is top notch as well.
Bottom line is vinyl is so pricey nowadays I would rather pay a few extra $$ for these pressings done by people who really care.

Seconded on Intervention Records. They're not overly prolific though, which is a shame.
