spz FM broadcast --> here!

Post by mbv »

hi folks, just wanted to let you know I posted a Spiritualized FM recording on http://www.sharingthegroove.org.
you'll need bit torrent software to download it, get it here:

http://bitconjurer.org/BitTorrent/

the gig is from November '97 in London, the quality is excellent, well worth getting a copy. the thread is located here:

http://www.sharingthegroove.org/msgboar ... ritualized

if you don't already know about sharingthegroove, it's a fantastic place to get all kinds of live recordings and bootlegs.

Do you still have this torrent up and running?Went to sharing the groove and dosent seem like there are any seeds.Did u just post this again recently. As for transfering files from torrents.I run on a Mac and use the application Shorten for shorten files and FLACer for Flac files.Once u download these applications you can transfer these to AIFF files or WAVE Files which are ready to burn.If u dont run on a mac just do a google search for shorten or Flac.

i guess i should have mentioned these were not in mp3 format :) thanks for clearing that up tremelovirus. this recording is in flac format, file size is 576MB. There are currently 13 seeds and 7 leechers with more than 150 complete downloads. if you jump on this now it will be a speedy download.
tremelovirus have you tried xACT for OSX? it encodes/decodes both shn and flac.

if you use Windows, you need a program called FLAC which you can get from here:
http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html
Mac users (OS X only) should try xACT, get it here:

Its weird, sometimes when I get a file on my desktop it wont default to open it with BitTorrent. This is what is going on with the London show for me.MBV,do u know anything about MAC's?Im having a problem,Im getting an error saying that my startup disc is full.Ive tried trashing a bunch of stuff to make room for more disc space but this is not working. :cry:

what BT client are u using? if its 3.3 i.e the latest official client, then the files only get allocated as they're downloaded. if ur using 3.2 the whole folder/file gets allocated i.e 570MB. this may be why your getting that startup disc full error so you need at least 570MB free before u can download anything. if you reboot that will clear all the swap files and free up some space.
if you do a Get Info on the torrent file and change it to open with BitTorrent, then Change All, then it should open the client by default.

hope this helps! :)

Thanks for this MBV. My first attempt at getting a bit torrent, and with a bit of a struggle I got it sorted, much appreciated. Once I get a hang of the upload side I'll post another show or two to keep the sharing, caring spirit alive.

Thanks again.
