A guitar question.

Post by johanur »

I'm looking at a guitar that sonic played with..
It's shaped like a teardrop. Quite nice.
Does anybody know the name of this piece?
I have never seen one before...
Cheers.

The most famous teardrop designed guitar (and I think I remember seeing a pic of sonic playing one) is the Vox Phantom series. I believe there are a bunch of generic versions made by Japanese companies and the like. They are on Ebay a lot, so you most likely will find one there.

Sonic's guitar

Wrong and wrong. Close though. Yes it was teardrop shaped, but the actual model is called Starstream. Like alot of Vox guitars of that era it has built in effects, namely a e-tuner, distortion, treble/bass boost, repeater (for which the song was named after I'm sure), and his model also included a hand held wah and vibrato feature as well. I have a Viper model with the distortion (really great fuzz sound), treble/bass boost and repeater. Very distinct sounds. Vox also made really beautiful guitars.
