"Excellent. Proper rock 'n' roll.
Bunch of skinny white lads, fronted by Mick Collins who looks like Samuel L. Jackson and sounds like Lou Rawls.

An update email from the website arrived in my inbox about an hour ago, it was briefly mentioned in that. Apparently the string sessions for the new LP are being recorded next week too.

All I know of the Dirtbombs is the two times I've seen them live. I did not care for them. I found it a bit too angular and lacking good melody. Granted, that's obviously based on a small batch of songs. But I wasn't impressed. And I didn't hear anything that sounded remotely like Jack White in them.

Personally, I think that the dirtbombs are one of THE best bands from Detroit (garage scene at least), but its not garage, its rock and roll, just real good stuff...

I really like them and I love Mick Collins' voice and how it sits in the music. No one sounds like that anymore, particularly in Rock music.
