(dare I admit to this?)
I had the first Skrewdriver album 'All Skrewed Up' as well as a 7" - 'Anti-Social'. I'll stick my neck out and say they were pretty good for a chap who enjoyed basic aggressive punk.
N.B. Please note they had no fascist tendencies or lyrics in those days and were just a hard punk band. The revolting stance appeared later.
And I was one of those record dealers who used to be asked for their records at record fairs. The one in Camden's Electric Ballroom used to have these guys selling LOADS of nasty white power music as well as all those NF and BM fanzines. Despite being familiar faces and quite polite they were obviously cunts. The funny thing was as they sold a lot of skinhead music they also sold ska and would have to deal with black guys rummaging through the 7" section. And only a couple of stalls away was the legendary Barry Isaacs chaotic reggae stall - one of the nicest guys I ever met during my record selling days (and obviously black).

Re: skrewdriver.
we used to get those idiots in my shop. the best was when they tried to argue with us.
Customer: "You guys got any Skrewdriver records?"
Us: "Nah. We dont sell them".
Customer: Why? You sell Public Enemy records. Thats the same thing isn't it?.
Us: "No. It isn't. Public Enemy are trying to educate people about black culture. Bands like Skrewdriver are trying to eliminate black culture of the face of the earth(or at the very least contianing it to Africa). There is the difference.
Customer: " whatever "
Or the best is when they used to spot Swervedriver records and nearly wet their pants. Even better when they would buy them.

I don't get what motivates skinheads to turn to punk rock.
The genre consists entirely of ideas from lifted black guys (Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Screamin' Jay Hawkins), jews (the Ramones, Lou Reed), gay and bi boys (Lou Reed again, the Dolls, Iggy Pop, Tom Verlaine). I mean, there isn't a straight white Protestant man anywhere in the roots of the genre. Anywhere.
Fucking idiots.
Granted, about the only music on earth that is relatively devoid of black, jewish, or (openly) gay influences is German classical music, and that's not so easy to play or compose as it looks.
