All I can tell you for the time being is that Jason has been very ill, but he's making an amazing recovery.

More information to follow when the new website goes live this week.

So nearly dying twice in the last 2 and half weeks jason has now and fantastically made an alarming and brilliant recovery and is due home today.
He is still fragile and really weak weighing in at maybe 8 stone but love and happiness on his side.
weirdly he is still jason though
no thoughts about how lucky he is
just mentioned how mad it is that his record is written almost like he was ill before
not that he's into esp and stuff
just in the most beautiful way
love to all and everyone who sent him get well wishes
cos he needed it and must have heard it
and thankfully he's here and back and coming home

That's something of a relief for all, most of all his close family and friends. Sounds scary though - I hope the only way to go is recovery now.

1 stone = 14 lbs. and so Jason must be weighing at 112 lbs. if the information is correct ?

Get well soon, J.Spaceman.

Close to death? Is this forum-board hysteria or was J really on his last legs? I know this has naught to do with *the music* but as Spaceman is the wizard behind the proverbial sonic Oz, it would be a relief for his fans (or, at least, me) to know what nearly killed him. Twice, apparently.
I hope it wasn't ebola.
But seriously, if anyone knows any further information would quench out a good deal of the speculation. Particularly the ebola theory.

Well, if anyone close to Jason is reading this, I'll add my name to the piles of people who wish him love and wellness in the days, and years, and decades to come. And if juliette really is Juliette, the very best of life and love and youth to yourself and yours as well.

god, i thought that about the straight and the narrow the other day after putting let it come down on half way through; i hadn't noticed under the orchestration but it's such a perfect song. i wanna hear it on an acoustic when jase is old and gravelly.

lots of love to jason, i hope he's doing loads better now, he's gotta stick around to be a dungaree wearing old bluesman singing on a rocking chair when he's old.

I'd agree with that bit about him still chucking out bluesy material as an old man. A nice image.

The more I've thought about this the sadder it made me feel. I just hope he gets back to full health as soon as possible - it strikes me he'll need to get back to music as soon as he can as it'll be therapeutic for him. Poor bugger.

Jason -

Nothing but the brightest white light/white heat and positive energy is being beamed your way from the U.S. I'm so relieved that you're on the mend. I really couldn't bare the thought of this world without you in it.

Rest and come back to us soon. Because we love you.

I can't inject enough drama and hyperbole into the descriptions of what Spaceman's music did for me. To be blunt, in the beginning there was sound and the Spirit(ualized) moved across the bass of the deep and Jason said "shine a light" and there was light and it was good.
Jason, there are innumerable people who have been "saved" by your creations. Don't break our hearts. We all want to keep you around, even if it is entirely selfish on our parts. Get well, Jason, we love you.

i felt the joy and the purity in music with Pure Phase
i discovered a new world with Lazer Guided Melodies
i lost my control with Amazing Grace
and these couldn't happen without you.

I hope get well soon and make me discover a new world again with your new record.

I remember when Pete Kember was in hospital with a collapsed lung in the mid nineties - which I only learned about on the same day that I'd gone to London to see him play a Spectrum gig - that I was seriously worried that we'd lost one of the most special musicians of our age. Now all of those worries and apprehensions have returned, although tempered by the news that the worse is over and the recovery well underway.

Jason - there are many, many people who love you, here and across the world, and I'm glad to be counted as one of them. I hope to see you back making and performing music soon, but will be happy with the simple thought that you're still out there. Take care, fella!

Love,

Ian

Jason - just saw the DKT/MC5 last saturday and they were an absolute inspiration. That these guys can show how rock n roll should be played and to do it at age 60 with such energy is mind blowing. I was truly taken aback and shocked by the news. Thankfully it seems your determination to live is as strong as your love in music. Words cannot express my appreciation. I'm looking so much forward to new albums and shows, I can hardly express my enthusiasm. I believe that during the coming years you'll continue to be a champion of music of the heart and soul. Jase - take a good rest, you of all people have truly deserved it!
